  1. Any idea when the winds ease off a bit on the north coast? Crazy how strong it is now
  2. Yep no sleep here either, those big gusts are scary at times. Cant wait until it starts to ease off, really do hate the wind
  3. Is it me or does it say it has hit 109mph at Aberdaron in the last hour on the met office site, surely not. It says 90mph for Capel Curig which you would believe
  4. Still part of the club im afraid Had torrential rain earlier but no signs of thunder/lightning here, just now i thought finally its here but turned out to be a plane as it got closer, damn you whoever you are flying that
  5. Any chance there will be any Thunder&Lightning on the western side of this rain band or it just going to be rain?
  6. I see it looks like we'll miss all the good stuff yet again We cant catch a break at all, just seems to happen all around us in Wales
  7. It looks like the North will miss out again? Desperate for rain here since the end of June, normally it cant give us enough when theres no potential for thunder anywhere
  8. You have only got to laugh at that warning map, its like it knows where the border to Wales is. Thats it im booking myself a storm chasing holiday next year and be done with it It aint happening here
  9. Can i get a permanent seat in here? Really cant remember the last time i saw a proper Thunderstorm here, if ever tbh.
  10. Yep, i dont think we could have done any worse out of this Storms wise, you wouldnt even know Storms were about. Somehow they seem to be North, South, East and West of Wales and Wales is like the eye of the storm. Should be used to it but am always left disappointed, you cant help but hope before it all happens
  11. Do we have a shout at Thunderstorms in the North? Or are they forming below us and moving towards England? I guess it can all still change aswell
  12. My point was other places to the East and West on the coast have been plastered this winter and we have had zip in comparison
  13. So this Winter the west of us has been pasted with snow and now the east of us. It started off well last night but then it quickly changed to rain leaving a messy slush that knowone wants. Has to be one of the worst places in Wales to live if your looking for any type of winter weather. For us here in the Colwyn Bay area 2010 is miles ahead of any other winter as we actually had a decent snow fall, damn they are rare
  14. Well im on the hill to the back of Colwyn Bay in the Heights and its light snow for us here atm, guessing its rain down the hill. The grass and paths have a light covering but the road is clear atm, really needs to get a lot heavier if im looking to be snowed in
  15. Heavy enough to not be able to get there tomorrow? lol
  16. Indeed, if we got a couple of inches i would be more than happy, would just be nice to see heavy snow falling for an hour for once rather than the really light snow we tend to get that can never settle
  17. Just a quick question. How come people are saying its great for North Wales (unless they mean NE wales) atm when looking at those charts above i just see rain and light snow at best. I will eat my hat if we got anything good out of this considering how disappointed we normally are around here, of course i hope im wrong. Maybe if we pray hard enough Sion it will eventually happen
  18. The usual suspects had rain like always though, joke of a place to live up here if your looking for snow. Whilst it has been cold enough for snow we had little precipitation but as soon as is started to warm up yesterday we had bucket loads of it as rain. TBH i think its the final nail in the coffin and i just wont bother looking at models etc, if it snows it snows but its so rare here its just not worth getting your hopes up over which i did a week last friday and they were swiftly destroyed. Makes it far worse when you see just how much snow falls in most of wales, even bloody Anglesey had it, now that really takes the biscuit
  19. Thanks Surfer and Brady, that explains why we get what we get the weather we get and the only time we really see any decent snow is when it comes straight off the Irish sea from the north
  20. What gets me is when its just rain forecast and its not cold enough for snow it cant drop enough rain on us here, it never stops. Then when it actually is cold enough for snow suddenly all the precipitation drops everywhere but here and its limited, sods law
  21. Thats how i feel haha, i know this is the NW thread but that sums up my feelings after 99% of wales get plastered by snow and either side of us yet we manage a measley 1cm. Think i will just give up from now on even looking to see if we will get any, if we do in the future then its a bonus. Checking just builds my expectations too much and 99% of the time they are crushed, plus you look an idiot after you tell people get ready for some serious snow and then struggle to produce even a flake haha
  22. Its mental that you have that much and we have sod all, i have never been so disappointed in an event, i expected we wouldnt get much but what they were forecasting for days this is just a right smack in the face. Your one side of the mountains and we're the other, you get a foot of snow, we have 1 cm, lovely stuff, the snow shield has never been so effective
  23. Well the mountains have ruined it for us here, literally nothing, its just a normal wet day with light snow. Where i am 150m above colwyn bay we have about a cm covering and down the hill and around the coast theres nothing at all
