  1. I'd like to say we're having an amazing winter full of ups and downs and not just downs either. Loving this winter.
  2. -5C here when I checked at 0630 hrs. Snow packed ice paths and side roads everywhere. Rain on top of this lot will be treacherous for road users. I've seen a lot of the valleys over the past few days and have been wondering the same thing about the Met Office temps and the actual temps around snow covered South Wales. I always thought warm air goes up over cold air and rain that falls through cold enough air, turns to snow. Are we actually going to return to mild weather so quick that it just rains?
  3. 7 inches of snow depth here in Cwmbran. Not sure I'll be able to get the car out of my street tomorrow. Crazy weather for early December. Nice though.
  4. Currently snowing here in Cwmbran. Has been since 1am. Approx 4 inches so far. Funny looking rain I know
  5. Massive flakes outside here in Cwmbran
  6. 3.1C here in Upper Cwmbran and still dry. It's knife edge whether we get rain or snow here. Nowcasting
  7. Snowing in West Pontnewydd..... and turning the rain to slush....a good sign that it may just stick very soon if it carries on as heavy as it is now....
  8. BBC Forecast just said this weather is going to have a 'sting in its tail' on Friday when some milder weather moves in from the Atlantic bringing 'potentially' very disruptive snow before it 'the big thaw' starts. I love the snow but I can't wait to see the back of it to be honest.....I'm getting fed up with digging out pathways and cars. Backbreaking work..... Bring on the big MELT asap
  9. I think the BBC downplayed the snow for Wales last night using the word showers and only mentioned 'something a little more significant' moving in later on in the afternoon. Well, I'm in Cwmbran and we've already had over an inch of snow AGAIN and it's going to be treacherous driving today. Snow on top of packed ice isn't a good mix. I won't be sending my kids to school today looking at the radar and I doubt they'll be going in tomorrow now looking at what's approaching the South coast for later.... I love the BBC but they got it wrong....
  10. Cwmbran at 14:14hrs ; Currently 2.7C : Dewpoint -2.1C : 969.8mb : Humidity 70% Possibility of further and maybe significant snow to develop across South and South east Wales in the early hours of Tuesday, giving accumulations of anything between 2cm to 10 cm's, dependant on your location and altitude. Also early signs of a warm up / thaw setting in over the coming weekend
  11. There's about 3 inches of lying snow here in Upper Cwmbran.
  12. Don't do it....go to work in the snow....'madness' you'll only be sent home or worry all day if you'll get home... Have a 'safe' day whatever you do
  13. It's official - there's an inch of snow already settled here in Upper Cwmbran. I knew I should have parked my car on the main road last night. It won't get anywhere in that depth....where's the 4x4 when you need one ?
