  1. Lovely to see many reply s thanks everyone. I have quite a few phobias I am also scared of snow storms, this only started in the last few years. Just feel that if it is a total white out that some how the snow will get on all the doors and windows and suffocate us all. My eldest son is weather mad and has a weather machine in the garden. He is always on weather forums He loved yesterday as he was in the city that had it worse then me 10 miles away in a village he come back and told me how wonderful it all was. Talking about watching thunder bolts and all sorts he so loves it and so wants to go abroad and chase a tornado. I have had therapy about my phobias but at the end of the day I think it has to come from me. But my therapist did say with the thunder storm phobia there really is real danger involved as people and houses have been struck so it is not all in my mind like maybe my other phobia are. Thick blindfold and headphones with loud music seems a good idea and something I am going to do at the next storm.
  2. Have Just had a day from hell. Have had thunder and lightening here from 12 noon until 4pm. I had such a bad panic attack had to ring my neighbour. Thank God she was in and she was so kind she even cancelled a hospital appointment to stay with me. I had to pay someone to go pick up my son who was in town 10 miles away as was unsure just how long theses storms would go on and was so scared that no way could I left alone. I could not breath very well felt sick and shook real bad. The storms are over now but I have been totally unable to eat as felt throat closed up so have had to eat soup. Feel sick and very very tired now. I am 49 now but as far back as I can remember have been totally terrified of lightening and have been convinced would die in a storm. I hate the summer and pray for the winter. Going through a thunder storm is one of the worse nightmares of my life
