As someone who has been following this site for years without posting much, i am delighted for Steve Murr who keeps us going whenever a cold, snowy spell looms.

Can't help but feel totally underwhelmed..theres snow all around us but nothing at all here in Huntingdon cambs ....a real non event ......enjoy guys

Right off to bed.
My expectations tonight is for a band of more organised snow showers to spread across Cambs, Norfolk between 3-6am which could push S into Suffolk, Essex. However my current thinking is many of these showers will weaken once they move inland and may only survive inland around 30-60 miles from the coast.
After a clear night it's 4.40 am and snowing in cambs ....TEITS..go to the top of the class !!

Hello .. Just to confirm that's its got heavier in cambs . Was looking all over for us with just a bit of light stuff but its pepped up again and seems we might get a bit more now . Great to see most people have done well .. A great end to a magical day

Well .....It's still going on and actually intensifying and getting heavier it must be the band that has developed and headed for cambs
Just looked at radar and it seems we are back in the game !!!

Looking at the radar it appears anyone from around Huntingdon N is in the sweet zone.
Just add the wrap around isn't expected until later this evenng although the radar isn't exactly the same as the models. Probably best just to watch this unfold.

Has anyone actually seen how vast this high pressuure is.... it is not only affecting us but stretches half way around the globe to Japan !

Despite ok-ish dewpoints, still only rain and sleet here. Radar isn't looking good at all either (i.e could do with more heavy precipitation for evaporative cooling)

Anything could happen this week
im not convinced that it will be mild by next weekend as i think it will be difficult to shift the stubborn blocking
certainly not clear cut as some people seem to think . i dont pretend to be an expert but after years of watching our weather and a couple of years
looking at models a scandi high could be on the cards
we should not discount the ensembles and ECM AND JMA models
lets wait and see

so frustrating we have a pathetic 1cm of snow here thats gonna melt if we dont get some cloud cover
trying to stay optimistic but this winter has been awful for snow for us regardless of wind direction
