  1. Feeling very grateful and pleased with what we received here - We've been out and about all morning and it's certainly got folks out in the fresh air !
  2. Are you sure it wasn't a low flying bap, possibly from a neighbours BBQ ? Lovely day here, hopefully there will be several weeks of summer left to enjoy :-)
  3. It is with the deepest regret that I have to inform you our dear friend and weather buddy Chris Mantle lost his short battle with cancer and passed away last night. Chris was a big part of our community on the SE & EA thread, for those of us that had the pleasure of meeting him in person at our regional get together events know he was a true gentleman, although some of us have moved on from Netweather I thought I would share the sad news as I'm sure there are still many here who will remember him fondly - RIP Chris x

  5. No T&L but we had a hefty shower of graupel here earlier - exploded on impact with the ground so was quite exciting while it lasted !
  6. Feeling rather relieved.... survived the killer smog (http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/564873/Toxic-smog-UK-health-warning-alert-asthma-attacks-heart-problems-sore-throats-itchy-eyes) .....and the end of days eclipse (http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/565155/Solar-eclipse-britain-religion-end-of-world) .....even managed to get a few photos (without going blind despite not wearing 'special' glasses) while eating Jaffa Cakes and singing Bonnie Tyler....... ....happy days
  7. It stayed well below freezing here in Milton Keynes all morning, we had a heavy frost but no snow....on the plus side the local high school hasn't closed due to heavy snow which was predicted by the local radio station last week so Master D's education hasn't suffered at all ........
  8. This is tropical cyclone ‪#‎Bansi‬ over the Indian Ocean with an illuminated eye wall caused by the lightning, taken by the ISS! Impressive shot! Source; meteoportaleitalia.it
  9. Had a dusting of snow here at dawn.....but like so many other good things it didn't last long !
  10. Same in MK unfortunately I'm expecting a crappy nights sleep here as there is stuff banging and crashing around outside, I'm working tomorrow so I'm certainly not going to feel like a little ray of sunshine in the morning ! I would imagine it's worse on the Coast but nothing compared to up north .....no loss of power or sheds blowing across the road (yet lol) - stay safe everyone :-)
  11. Happy new year and everything that goes with it - hopefully 2015 will deliver weather wise, I shall mostly be enjoying whatever it brings from another place - winds of change and all that but wish you all well and will pop in from time to time when I have something to share like this photo taken today in the freezing fog ....
  12. It's coming........ ....and so is Christmas, have a good one folks !!
  13. Well it was a bit here today and gone tomorrow really as most of the posts from last night got deleted including a poem by abruzzi spur - there was noting wrong with anything that was said and certainly noting created hassle for the forum team ! As they say actions speak louder than words so have a good winter folks ....... Bye :-)
  14. Beware of fake imitations .... Apparenty John Lewis have sold out already ....
  15. I prefer this recut version to the original ... ......also looks like they ripped off the idea from Oliver Jeffers book 'lost and found' http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/john-lewis-christmas-advert-2014-4581661?ICID=FB_mirror_main anyway IMO last year’s Bear and Hare was sooooo much better !!
  16. RIP Maya Angelou. What an exceptional woman..... http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/may/28/maya-angelou-in-fifteen-quotes
