  1. To quote one little person (not me) present at the lighting countdown when the lights went on “wow that’s bigger than my house” I’m on the naughty list (again) apparently
  2. Perfect weather for the Woburn Christmas tree lighting this evening- my thermals and a mulled wine kept me warm for carol singing on the cobbles
  3. It won’t be me going up the ladder I’m in charge of the indoor trees Beautiful sunrise here this morning- not my photos I wasn’t up in time to see the best of it but almost wish I had been now!
  4. It’s coming …. I can feel it in my (old) bones …meanwhile things are about to get festive here, I’ve decided to put the Christmas decs up by the weekend especially the outdoor ones before it gets too cold
  5. Can you not postpone it for a couple of weeks? Reckon you’d stand a better chance of a frost by December We were so lucky last year to get that snow just at the right time for some of our annual pre Christmas festivities- this was Waddesdon the day we went, I won’t be expecting a repeat this year !
  6. Daisy not Lassie Mmmm not sure my dogs would help with finding the cat, they would probably prefer it if she stayed down the shaft !
  7. Perfect autumn walk today and a very moving installation at Stowe Gardens (National Trust) Standing With Giants WWW.STANDINGWITHGIANTS.CO.UK
  8. ….the witches in MK are not so scary and it’s certainly a lot drier back here than it was in Shropshire.
  9. Same here over the weekend and mine was only on 15 ! First time scraping frost off the windscreen Sunday morning it then I was going out stupidly early I’m pleased it feels more seasonal temperature wise though, we just need the trees to catch up and give us some lovely autumn colours
  10. I’m ready for something more seasonal and almost ready for ….. Mistletoe & , on the fire and a new boiler on the way to replace the old gas guzzler …..sadly I think it’s most likely to be a mild and damp winter with a few colder blasts but unlikely to get snowed in ️
  11. It’s not feeling very autumnal here at all, if it wasn’t for all the pumpkins you’d never think it was October
  12. I made a couple of new friends today … baaahaha it stayed dry and hopefully tomorrow looks good as I’m off to the gardeners world and BBC good food show
  13. Well the weather was kind for my highland coo experience yesterday not sure I’m going to stay dry at the county show tomorrow though
  14. Met Éireann have named Storm Betty as a low-pressure system which is also triggering Met Office warnings. Storm Betty, which will bring higher impacts to the Republic of Ireland, will move from the south of Ireland to the north on Friday and into Saturday. It will bring some impacts to western areas of the UK in particular, with high winds and heavy rain likely for many.
  15. I’m a Bizzy buzzy, fuzzy wuzzy bee Had a sunny jaunt around Oxfordshire today, if any of you recognise Kingston Bagpuize House it was used as the set of 'Cavenham Park', the residence of 'Lord Merton', in the television series Downton Abbey. It was also used as 'Mrs Goddard's School' in the 2020 feature film Emma.
