  1. Lost count of the number of lows now, but noticeable correction south for next Monday's low on the GFS 18z. Similar to the latest UKMO
  2. UKMO 12Z now favouring a more sustained 'wedgey' pattern with low number 2 and 3 going in to next week, keeping Scotland and maybe N England more locked in the cold.
  3. Yep, I was in central London on 28th Feb and where I was I don't believe the temperature got above -1.5C. Pretty exceptional for C. London although I believe this was the day with the -15 uppers.
  4. Incredible set for London, mean down to -6.7. The Op only slightly below the mean up to this point.
  5. Right so currently -5.5C in Walthamstow, and at 3am there's many more hours of the night to go. I have only really kept track of the temperature here in recent years but surely tonight could be the coldest for over a decade?
  6. In Epping Forest this morning the level was widely 14-15cm in open spots. More like 12cm in Walthamstow on the roads and in front gardens etc. February 2009 is the obvious last event I can think of which beat this snow depth for this area, although I have a question mark in head about overnight 4-5th February 2012. I remember a similar depth (before quickly thawing in the afternoon). Any locals remember any details about this one? Temperature here currently at 12:30 is -0.6C. This lying snow is going nowhere fast.
  7. Feel like i’ve been watching the pivot for about 5 hours and now starting to realise it’s actually pivoting around me
  8. GFS with a slider snowstorm and the -6 and -7 uppers never go away. All routes seemingly leading to cold right now
  9. Think it’s peaked here in NE london at 40.2C on my (usually conservative) home weather station
  10. Seems like GFS basically had it spot on in the end. (Since revising down its temps to 37/38 in the last 24 hours). Means we could be in store for a 40/ 41 tomorrow if GFS doesn't revise that down too (which it hasn't done yet).
  11. 37.0 (unofficial reading) in my garden in north east london
  12. I'm jealous of 21.3C! Windows closed and it's 24C inside for me but i can't complain too much about that
  13. Really confirms to me that most of us in this country just don't know how to deal with this kind of heat at all when I see most of the houses on my road with fully open windows with no curtains shut.
  14. Best to filter down what is shown to 'official observations' only.
