  1. Very heavy snow in Essex - convective can see the high tops between the gaps
  2. That would be perfect for here (live between Bradwell and Maldon) Thought I saw a flash a minute ago through curtains but nothing on sferics
  3. Yup - on the Dengie myself and whilst it has moderated a bit the snow shower just here was pretty heavy Radar showing another formed behind
  4. Started re snowing in East Essex and radar returns looking more promising
  5. Still have moderate snow here in Essex and stuff that melted earlier refreezing Settling much more readily now temps have dropped
  6. Snow seems to be melting somewhat here even though still snowing
  7. Snowing hard but refusing to stick around n roads and pavement not sure why
  8. Not got as much as some but doing ok here (10 miles east of Chelmsford)
  9. Maybe wrong thread sorry but any lightning observations this evening ? Something lit up ensuite bathroom window just like lightning 30 mins ago. A set of very bright flashes - whiter than white colour. Exactly like lighting Checked weather radar nothing and checked lightning detectors nothing Can't hear any cars outside or people out and about and car lights are too too low to light up window. In fact it's near silent out there No street light that way either from the direction and angle it seemed to come from its just sky that direction Didn't seem like a torch as it flashed in a non linear way Just wondered if anyone else seen anything. I'm in East Essex The only two things I could think of both extremely unlikey is some sort of dry lightning or a meteor ?
  10. thought I just heard thunder in Chelmsford - sounded odd though
  11. 2 rumbles on thunder in total - rain now moved on - but wow that was impressive I noticed the MetO warnings were updated at 2am
  12. insane rain in Essex atm - heaviest rain I've ever seen I think - like someone just opened a flood-gate above - amazing one solitary rumble of thunder
  13. I was wrong when said subsiding - on storm no. 4 or 5 now - and this last one is very good
  14. even though surrounded by heavy returns - not hearing any thunder any more the cells all seem to have lost their "edge"
  15. torrential rain in Chelmsford - lots of lightning - radar return is pretty impressive
