Horrible drive to work. Had a brush with a tree thanks to the oncoming driver blinding me with his lights. Thankfully it wasn’t more on the road and has just scraped the side of the car!

I’m working on Tuesday 7am - 9pm(carer) with lots of dark hill roads. I am praying I do not get stuck but will prepare for worst case scenario

Obviously we escaped the weather warning so it is laying thick and fast.

Aberdeenshire council used to have a policy that said that if your school was closed due to adverse weather you had to contact your local school(s) and offer your services. Before she moved authorities my wife did that at least once, but If they still have that policy they certainly don't promote it amongst their teaching staff these days. It may even have applied to their employees in other services too. Much easier just to close now, it's the uncertainty, can't have a school full of kids (who live closer) and virtually no staff (who tend to have to commute).
I have already contacted my boss (I am local authority) about plans for Friday IF we have a lot of snow and she has told me that I will work in my home area instead of driving outwith. It means I can walk from house to house instead.

Heavy snow on with nice big flakes and laying quickly. Thankfully I am off today and watching from the comfort of a warm home.

Really nervous about any snow that might be coming this month. As a carer who needs to drive I hope any snow falls on my days off

Klippie reminds me of this when I caught the Northern Lights and Ursa Major back in December.
