  1. Slight dusting of the white stuff on a few surfaces! Looks like those chain of snow showers to the North-West may end up passing to the North of Birmingham. Slight lack of Southerly push to them now ? (Edit: but would love to be wrong!)
  2. Just had a snow to graupel to snow shower, with some moderate-sized flakes towards the end. Seems to have stopped now.
  3. That’s encouraging! Could certainly put a lot of snow shields in here under threat!
  4. Tuesday morning’s front, if cold enough, I feel would have a real possibility to produce some torrential sleet and snow for places, especially considering how vigorous the system could be. I suspect tomorrow, it’ll probably stay mostly dry here with the West-North-Westerly wind likely to drag most of the snow showers to the North! Although enough instability to the flow could ensure a few get further South/South-East in the region at times. Depends how well they survive the Welsh Mountains I guess!
  5. Interestingly, the Netweather radar in the last few frames seems to have shown the snow pepping up a bit in a few places!
  6. Light snow here too with proper (albeit small) star-shaped snowflakes!
  7. Selfishly hoping the front arrives here (if it makes it in one piece) before it gets dark later on, as I much prefer watching snow fall during the daytime rather than at night!
  8. Looks like the weather’s been a real troublemaker in Solihull too, vandalising cars with little white flakes!
  9. Had a brief and very light, sleety, graupelly shower here about 20 minutes ago! PS: Good to see things regarding Tuesday’s snow possibility improved a bit, although the whole thing could do with another slight adjustment further East!
  10. Have to concur with some recent points, especially those made by both @karlos1983and Catacol! Anymore childishness and bickering, we’ll have to kiss your posts goodbye! I get people are upset about the fact (some of) the charts don’t seem as snowy as they would like, or not the wintry wonderland they’re hoping for. But there’s still plenty of opportunities for wintry weather (albeit admittedly long-lasting settling snow becomes less likely the further into the season we go). And besides, next week could still throw up some surprises. We really don’t want to have to keep sweeping up all the toys thrown from prams in here. In fact, we might have to take the toys away from those who cause disruption to this thread and enforce stricter posting restrictions, which we would hate to do! I know it’s been a hectic 24 hours or so. But just remember, if your post contains any rudeness, lots of moaning or ramping, contains just an image, or is just deemed generally unsuitable for this thread, and it will be either moved to a more suitable thread (such as this one: or it’ll never be seen, again. While some room for banter, humour and fun is allowed in here, it won’t be tolerated if it takes away from the friendliness of the thread or if it doesn’t include actual model discussion. So please, keep the thread friendly and on-topic, because anymore bad behaviour and their really WILL be consequences! Tar! ?
  11. Just to let you know our Netweather skip is already overflowing with all the trash we had to get rid of from this thread last night. We’re gonna have serious problems with our skip if we have to remove anymore off-topic posts, including the “is it going to snow/rain/etc here ?” posts! Let’s continue to keep things Model related in here. Thanks!
  12. Amazing pic! Met Office talking about the possibility for snow on Saturday, albeit mostly over the hills. But I’m hoping it’ll be cold enough to fall to lower levels too - just like what happened a few Saturday’s ago!
  13. Some of the above posts ought to be in the Model Moods, Moans and Ramps thread, really But I’m in a good mood today So they’re here to stay! ? (Plus the thread is fairly quiet)
  14. Someone please go to Eastern Northern America with some Splatoon guns and cover up that blue and purple beast with yellows and oranges. And then do the same over Scandinavia. Maybe then, heights will build to our North with the snowypocalypse coming in from the East!
  15. Ar bless! It’s gone that quick it’s almost like it never happened ?
  16. Yeah, wasn’t expecting it to become that mild (at least not yet) despite the warmer upper air having moved over us. And would you look at that, a -3*C showing their for Central/Eastern Scotland. ? What an extraordinary day it has been!
  17. Can’t believe how much milder it’s becoming. Almost 9*C now, lol. Thought it felt warmer when I went for a walk about an hour ago.
  18. Everything going white here and the snow is turquoising the grass. Considering getting my Hetty hoover out to suck up that evil milder sector out to South-West, so the snow won’t turn into that ghastly wet stuff ?
  19. You’ll probably have a slightly better chance of it lasting as snow longer where you are.
  20. My guess for Solihull and Birmingham tomorrow: 8am to 10am: The first few bits of sleet and snow starts to fall, which becomes a bit heavier and organised 11am: Snow gets heavier 12pm: And heavier 1pm: Sleet 2pm: the sick bucket! ?
