offerman I can’t send you the video because I saw it on my wife’s WhatsApp from one of her colleagues.
She lives in a flat near the river at the Asda end of Frome. The river was absolutely raging this morning!

jtay how did your mower not sink?
I walked on my lawn to hang washing and it’s akin to a swamp!

offerman my manual rain gauge (holds 50mm) is in a plant pot in the middle of the garden and I can see it’s nearly full!

Anyone know where the stop switch is!?

We had hardly any sun yesterday. It’s misty and invizdriz this morning.
But hey the sky was crystal clear from around 18.00-at least midnight!!!!!!

Oh for goodness sake the dry day is a no go already with heavy drizzle turning up 10 minutes ago!

There must be some flooding in the strip from around Exeter and NE to around Marlborough.
Those areas have had several heavy bursts run along the same line in the last 4/5 hours and another now.
Meanwhile just a few miles to the East it’s been showery but nothing more than a few mm.

Having driven to and from Trowbridge this morning (as well as doing a few hours work) the sky is certainly fascinating.

Alderc 2.0 I just checked the radar and am really surprised! It’s like some plume set up!
-
Wonderful day, a surprise frost to start too.

TammasinWhiskers it’s a very slow moving slack LOW pressure. The showers are moving anticlockwise round the LOW, like they’re in a spin cycle.

Yes the first sunny morning for 9 days!
-
Lol it’s clearing at dusk! Naturally!
Been a few sunny spells today but nothing like how clear it is now! Plenty of showers throughout the day too.

We haven’t actually done too badly for wet school runs this half term. This morning was only the 2nd wet morning in 24. There’s been a few more wettish afternoons though.
That 2 week dry cold spell seems a lifetime ago!

Not the merest hint of brightness all day but of course there are breaks in the cloud and stars shining now!
Any chance that the gap between tomorrow’s rain bands might be clearer? Predicted drier timing of around 12-16.00 would be decent if brighter!

20mm overnight and annoying showers continuing this morning!
-
Sunshine alert! Breaks in the cloud after a dull, windy morning with a few brief showers. The first bright sun since last Thursday!
@mike5900 that blossom seems very early! Our cherry is budding.

And now drizzling properly again. 3 days in a row of absolute vile filth!
-
Blasted invizdriz again, infuriating! It was lovely and clear from just after sunset and into last night!
-
Dorsetbred what the dickens is that ‘creature’ statue in your picture!?

Disgusting day, like yesterday, I swear it has drizzled nonstop since Friday evening. Obviously I can’t be sure but the wetness and puddles suggests it likely continued over both nights!

Persistent drizzle and invizdriz. Even though the sky is brighter now it’s continuing.

TammasinWhiskers we had the absolute laundry dream down your way in August 2022.
Rented a cottage in the middle of nowhere and every days wash was put out at 21.00 at dusk and was dry by the morning!
*Stormforce~beka* hanging washing outside is my happy place! Bugger that you’re North facing, we are very lucky in that respect!
