  1. Crazy tap on tap off hail and torrential rain developing as it raced overhead 10 minutes ago. It stopped and started 6 times in about 2 minutes with huge raindrops mixed with hail each time!
  2. If anyone uses Facebook go to Spotted in Warminster Town to see a remarkable strike caught on a video doorbell!
  3. Jasper Foxx that’s great. If you use Facebook go to Spotted in Warminster Town for a remarkable video doorbell shot!
  4. MP-R probably it’s just everything kicked off around and just after sunset.
  5. Is nocturnal cooling a thing this early in the year!? Perhaps it is with the changing climate!?
  6. Snow, hail, gales, torrential rain, sunshine and now lightning and thunder approaching to round off the day! A few distant flashes seen in the fading light plus rumbles too!
  7. offerman lol I was just about to report the same is happening in Warminster! Large blobs of wet snow within the heavy rain. Makes it a bit more interesting I suppose!
  8. Dorsetbred thanks. That earlier rain died out but more has now formed on that Western flank and it’s raining here now. Radar shows it to be showery and the sky around here is a mix of clear slots and very dark based clouds.
  9. jtay I’m not so sure. It’s forming way further West than modelled/forecast last night . Or it’s a different front!
  10. Surprisingly decent day with hazy sunny spells after rain cleared by 08.00! Breezy and fresh feeling which is a little odd on a SSE’ly. Front currently out West, tomorrow it apparently shifts East and invigorates by breakfast time. Can it be further East than predicted to leave a similar day to this!?
  11. If you’re ever in Warminster and want some great views go up Elm Hill past the golf course and as high as you can get. Absolute treat this afternoon! And I stayed dry!
  12. A stunning afternoon for a walk at the edge of the military training area near Warminster. Lots of sunshine, a fresh wind and spectacular storm clouds. Also a radar grab to show the shower producing the hail streaks.
  13. pinball wizard nope I learnt this a few years ago. Admittedly it’s hard with some clothing materials but thin items and towels dry well given no rain - that’s a big ask of course !
  14. 3 hours after it stopped raining the sun has finally broken through! I’m sure fronts used to clear quicker. Whichever direction they come from the residual cloud seems to take so long to clear! Anyone got any idea what bird this feather is from please? My boy found it on the way to school this morning. I have searched various websites but haven’t found a definitive answer.
  15. Dorsetbred I really hope tomorrow’s front doesn’t drag its heels and that we get a sunny afternoon! Beautiful evening for my boy’s football training. Bout time!
  16. SunnyG I learnt a few years ago that from March-October when the Met Office app shows cloud it will generally be pleasant hazy sun through mid/high level cloud. @Summer8906 was it you who referred recently to the humidity as opposed to fresh Spring air? Today almost feels oppressive in the still, hazy conditions. Possibly something to do with all the moisture from all the rain! Sorry if it wasn’t you.
  17. Yes very pleasant albeit cloudy again now. It doesn’t ‘feel’ like March though. In fact there’s almost an oppressiveness to the air. Still and warm and hazy like a summer afternoon.
  18. 78/79 you know what it’ll do, it’ll make the first evening of light until gone 7.30 be dull and wet! And ensure the colder nights with that set up push into the early morning a little further!
