  1. If you’re ever in Warminster and want some great views go up Elm Hill past the golf course and as high as you can get. Absolute treat this afternoon! And I stayed dry!
  2. A stunning afternoon for a walk at the edge of the military training area near Warminster. Lots of sunshine, a fresh wind and spectacular storm clouds. Also a radar grab to show the shower producing the hail streaks.
  3. pinball wizard nope I learnt this a few years ago. Admittedly it’s hard with some clothing materials but thin items and towels dry well given no rain - that’s a big ask of course !
  4. 3 hours after it stopped raining the sun has finally broken through! I’m sure fronts used to clear quicker. Whichever direction they come from the residual cloud seems to take so long to clear! Anyone got any idea what bird this feather is from please? My boy found it on the way to school this morning. I have searched various websites but haven’t found a definitive answer.
  5. Dorsetbred I really hope tomorrow’s front doesn’t drag its heels and that we get a sunny afternoon! Beautiful evening for my boy’s football training. Bout time!
  6. SunnyG I learnt a few years ago that from March-October when the Met Office app shows cloud it will generally be pleasant hazy sun through mid/high level cloud. @Summer8906 was it you who referred recently to the humidity as opposed to fresh Spring air? Today almost feels oppressive in the still, hazy conditions. Possibly something to do with all the moisture from all the rain! Sorry if it wasn’t you.
  7. Yes very pleasant albeit cloudy again now. It doesn’t ‘feel’ like March though. In fact there’s almost an oppressiveness to the air. Still and warm and hazy like a summer afternoon.
  8. 78/79 you know what it’ll do, it’ll make the first evening of light until gone 7.30 be dull and wet! And ensure the colder nights with that set up push into the early morning a little further!
  9. An almost rain free S/SW!? Blimey! It feels humid and if the sun breaks through I think it could get quite warm.
  10. What are the Met Office on!? is it really going to turn foggy this afternoon? It is barely ever still foggy at 14.00/15.00 even under a midwinter anticyclone!
  11. Sorry if I seemed annoyed. It’s simply that we cannot even achieve a dry day! Fine, pleasant afternoon now though. Looking at the radar from all morning until now perhaps there’s a weak front/trough moving slowly East. Pretty standard really !
  12. The second weekend in a row with most of the rain overnight. Very fortunate timing! And a very pleasant afternoon outside.
  13. Not sure how but there was an hour (whooppee!) with decent sunshine mid morning. Shame it’s been sandwiched by showers, drizzle, gloom and wind!
  14. *Stormforce~beka* Hope you’re ok, not bruised etc! Steady on here, got a few sunny spells, still invizdriz in the air on and off though.
  15. Any idea when there might actually be an even partly cloudy morning? Let alone a clear one! Feasibly it could be light enough by 06.30 to have no lights on indoors, but no chance with it being dull every morning! Would gladly swap 11c and gloom for 0c and frost/sunshine!
  16. Alderc 2.0 there were a few model runs on Saturday/Sunday that kept this rain over France and delayed any rain on Thursday until the night - that looks set to arrive by early afternoon now too! Drier tomorrow, maybe!!!
