  1. we have heavy snow same band that caught livingston hopefully! edit: only lasted 5 minutes here then blue skies appearing, just caught the edge of the shower me thinks
  2. what we are getting now its like light rain then heavy bursts of snow but none the less the snow is on its way !
  3. was woken by heavy hail which has turned to light rain now! Still plenty of snow and cant see it melting today.
  4. We have light snow now getting heavier and blowing about a bit, it dont look like lasting long though but i wouldnt know
  5. they dont make it to clear on the main page do they cheers sawel Looking forward to some good snow fall in the coming days , just hopeing it dont affect my flight from glasgow airport in the early hours of saturday can anyone tell me what the charts are showing for then ??
  6. Aviemore is reporting -15c on the BBC website just now
  7. We had snow and sleet last night and then the same again this morning although mostly snow until the last 10 minutes, so hopefully the sky clears and cools as we have lost a couple of inches this weekend but still around 4" inch on the ground and there has now been snow cover for 11 days here and i expect it to still be here when the cold spell returns. They are aweome pictures from aberfeldy
  8. yeah the bbc are back to forecasting the snow to spread pretty far inland now to around the southern highlands. So its strange there earlier forecast was so different
  9. i dont think anywhere in scotland got more than 12" to 18 " at lowish levels i think shes having you on mate
  10. bbc has forecast the snow to break up and die down as it reaches south west scotland hopefully there wrong again though
  11. i just had a walk to down to drumpelier loch near my work in coatbridge and had a cautious stroll onto the frozen surface. It seems brick hard and you could probably walk all the way across but the furthest i went was about 10 metres, what a cracking winter scene .... But still got minus 6 just now
  12. So can someone clarify for me please...... has this cold spell to continue for the next couple of days and then warm up or could we be expecting it to last longer ????? It just seems strange that any time i've seen snow it has lasted no longer than 5 days or so, and there is already about 8" lying here, with tommorrow being the 8th day of lying snow and there is still talk of more snow and more freezing temps, , im only 20 and have heard my dads stories of winters from the 70s/80s of really cold spells lasting a month at a time and it would be great to see it happen before this global warming kicks in. Hopefully more snow on the way and it's a cool minus7 here just now
  13. Snow has now passed to the east of here but it must have dumped about 3" tonight so i cant complain , i reckon there is about 7" to 8" on the ground now which is by far the largest December snowfall of my life (im only 20) and i have only seen it deeper than this the one time back in the mid 90s. I wonder what the shotts/harthill area is like would be good to hear if anyone knows. Good luck to the north and the east for the snow tonight
  14. still dumping it down here with massive flakes and no wind its falling in slow motion and its kinda cool to watch
