  1. very surprised by tonights snow, this morning wasn't expecting the rain to be this far west let alone it turn to snow.
  2. February ended up pretty wet here 271mm, with only 2 completely dry days* *00:00-23:59 (rain in mm)
  3. As much as I want a little bit of snow, I really think we're missing out on those cold, crisp, clear dark evenings, and even half a week of that would be lovely right now, we've had over 100mm of rain so far this month, and only one totally dry day (1st).
  4. Really looking forward to a bit of rain just to water things naturally however after weeks without rain all we've had this week is a couple of dampen the ground showers and looking at forecasts we'll miss most of any proper rain in the coming days too. Rain has become the new snow recently, everywhere else but here, and don't even get me started with thunderstorms
  5. Quite an intense high pressure forecast for tomorrow, around 1047hPa (mb) around midday, not record breaking but still quite rare.
  6. even further back than my location, 1982 here, looking a photographs taken back then and some new archives, it was pretty special, I have recollections of 1987/1991 but I doubt that was a foot, been a decade since the last proper covering of all surfaces with an inch of snow.
  7. Yip, not nice out there, very similar to that Sunday back in December, oddly just outside of the warning for ice, although the Met Office has this area in one for this evening and overnight, should have had one for this morning though
  8. I suspect nothing much will happen here, I always compare these type of setups to the 9/10th February 1999, and apart from a few results during the 00's it been very underwhelming since. However I'll probably be happy if I see a few flurries
  9. Nature's fireworks this Saturday, actual fireworks next Saturday, be interesting if we get anymore storms tonight, if we do everyone will be stirring even the
  10. woken up to -7°c on the thermometer, incredibly rare these days to get that low, must be at least a decade since we've seen it this cold here, looking like it'll be nearly 20° warmer on Sunday night
  11. same here although thermometer is showing -1, roads are going to be a nightmare for anyone travelling especially with days of frost on sheltered paths and roads.
  12. had a very heavy hail and thunderstorm track across the Gower, some large pea size hail, leaving a white layer across the roads and pavements
  13. after all the rain, it was nice to see a frost, -0.2°c was the low yesterday morning, mixed day today, started with blue sky then within an hour it was pretty dark and lashing it down.
  14. Think they got it a little correct, few flashes and rumbles now rolling up over the Gower.
  15. spells of drizzle and low misty cloud, temperature at 18°c
  16. Don't think I've enjoyed watching rain and drizzle out the window for a long time, great seeing the blackbirds and the song thrush hopping about the grass in the rain. A bit more rain or showers tomorrow before a settled spell until Friday .
  17. a pretty cloudy afternoon here, with spells of drizzle, quite refreshing with temperatures around 19°c
  18. Much more pleasant here today, sunny spells, temperature in the late teens. Tomorrow the met office has issued a yellow warning for Thunderstorms in the south of the country https://twitter.com/metoffice/status/1550051646226530304?t=SRl8iPoiUxowQlZf4Ov4Ng&s=19
  19. one has just exploded up over me to the west of Swansea, thunder at least twice a minute
  20. plenty of the wet stuff falling around here today, typical really that now the cold has gone, heavy precipitation knows where Swansea is again
  21. have a feeling we'll see more showers in my neck of the woods this evening, but if we do, will they be snow?
  22. same here, went north and east of my location
