Sky was a different colour (quite orange-y) here, a wee while ago too. I must admit I thought it was Mossmorran flaring

Glad it wasn't just me who thought it was getting a wee bit windy, Blitzen! I would take heavy snow and freezing cold over this any-day.

2011 hasn't been too disastrous for our weather, but lets hope that 2012 is much better. And so, I wish you all a Happy New Year when the time comes. Drink un-responsively!

You make a good point here - I wouldn't be too surprised if the Scottish Government decide to keep schools etc. open as a reaction to last weeks storm not being 'too bad'. I guess we'll just need to wait and see, hoping that the storm isn't as bad as it is expected

Hoping Friday's storm will degrade soon - As much as I enjoy witnessing extreme weather events, as soon as it becomes dangerous to the public it's not something I want to witness.

Well the wind seems to have died down - And I'm happy to report that the power is still working Hope all of you escaped from the storm as well as we seem to have done!

The wind seems to be picking up a bit more now.. I'm guessing this is the worst of it...?
