  8. John ..there is widespread disruption across the whole of South Wales, trees down, roofs off and plenty of sheds and greenhouses destroyed ..I don't call the whole of South Wales localised, there should have been more warning ..!

  10. you are wrong ..the warnings for last weeks storm were in abundance ..yes we were warned it would be "windy" ..but 84mph just recorded in Mumbles ..!!! jeez

  14. I think when the low links up with the jet we will see "upgrades" in wind strength ..100mph can't be ruled out in my opinion ..major disruption is on the cards folks, if you've not nailed it down yet do it now ..!
  15. Yes Duncan ..I was working in 1987 when the storm hit, probably the most manic shift I've ever worked in Police ops ..I really could do without a repeat of that day thank you very much !
  16. I hope it'll be a damp squib too ..sadly I don't think it will be, I will be at work dealing with all the trees down, flooding and people hit with flying slates etc etc ..looking at the models and other charts I think I'm in for a busy shift !!
  17. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit ..however you are right ..I don't think the models are showing a repeat of 1987 but nevertheless it's going to be interesting ..don't think we can firm up on the track until Saturday ..yes I'll be watching closely
  18. the storm has now moved on from Rhoose, one very bright flash of lightning and two rumbles of thunder and it was over !!
  19. the rain totals heading for Brighton, Eastbourne and Hasting seem huge ...stay safe down there peeps !
  20. this is gaining strength in Southern Wales ..weather station values are flying all over the place ..humidity still rising now at 90%, temp falling at 16.8c and pressure dropping ..grass is growing but my gadget doesn't show that !!
  21. temp now 17.4c and humidity at 89% ..pressure dropping at 1003mb ..3mm of rain so far today
