    torrential rain in the early hours but not a sniff of thunder ..hopefully that cell in the channel will swing left as it makes landfall and head for me !

    EML ..your belief in the models is misguided for sure, perhaps you can give me an example of when they were correct at a week or more away ? ..nothing contradictory about my post, I say it how it is, they can show a trend and that is all ..and I've just finished my cup of coffee thanks !

    I agree PG, In my opinion it does look like we are in for some "colder" weather but certainly no "beast from the East" ..oh and BTW it's FI "Fantasy Island" not F1 which is a race involving cars !

    The "models" are "utter tosh" and why we/us try to forecast the weather a week away by looking at them is beyond belief ..in my 5 years of watching them they are hardly ever right at that distance so why we get so excited at what "they show" really baffles me ..trends, that's all they are good for so sit back, have a a cup of coffee and Winter will arrive when you least expect it, not when the models say it it will !

    A forecast ...is exactly that, a prediction of what the weather will do at any point in the future ..."utter tosh" ,,,how do you know ? ..do you have a TARDIS ?

    has Gibby been looking at the same charts as me this morning? all I can see is an ever increasing chance of cold next week ..I just don't see that "the door has closed" !!!

    people talking about how long will the cold spell last before it's even arrived ...WHY ? ..people getting hung on a single run ..upgrade/downgrade ..WHY ? ..surely it's a trend that we are looking for and as far I can see the trend is for a cold spell of weather to arrive next week !!

    very calm before the storm here in Rhoose, wind 6kts, temp 10.1c pressure 1014 ..driving home from work at 07:00 tomorrow should be interesting !

    Liam Dutton has just posted this on Facebook. Glad to see that Met Office has made right decision & will soon be updating the wind warnings to make them clearer for S'ern areas Mon/Tue.

    Just had a nasty storm push through with hail & thunder dropping the temp by over 2c in a very short space of time. Tomorrow looks interesting to say the least, especially along South & West coastal areas ...stay safe people ...Merry Christmas & a happy New Year from Rhoose !

    noticeable drop in temp since the rain has gone through, nearly a whole 2c here in Rhoose !
