The MotoGP teams roll into Austin, Texas as the storm season gets into it's stride, how is the race weekend shaping up?

You can get the BA app on your phone Dave and that will keep your boarding pass for you, or once you've checked in online you have the option to print your pass and carry it with you.
I either take a collapsible tripod and stick it in my hold luggage bag, or there is the option to buy a budget tripod from Walmart when you arrive, they are $30-$40 for a reasonable one if I remember correctly.
Clothing is usually shorts and t-shirts, but there can be cooler days, so a hoodie and jeans are good to have too, it's a good idea to keep a warm top in the car as the temperatures can be chilly in the cold winds in the outflow of a storm.

whats the website link to give family members so they can see where i am when i do tour1 from 9th may please ?
Quentin (Dorsetbred) said it as well as I could, the link for the storm chase page will go live before the tours start and we'll have streaming and mapping on there. Plus there will be daily forum updates, both from the road and once the dust settles each evening/morning depending on how late it is when we check in to a hotel for the night.
We experimented with live chat on the stream last year, and may do something similar again, but we will share all the relevant links and info in plenty of time for the start of the tours.

Hi Sam
Good to have you travelling with us this year!
Arriving at 16:10 is fine, most direct flights from the UK come in around that time so you'll most likely meet fellow travellers at the airport on the way through.
For flights home, 1530 is a cutting it a little fine, if you could book a slightly later flight it gives the team more time to get you to the airport if you are chasing a state or two away on the last chase day. We've never failed to get anyone to the airport on time, but having a little breathing space always helps, and makes for a potentially more comfortable trip back to Dallas if there is a decent risk to play with to end the tour.

All the build up ends and we hit the first MotoGp weekend of 2015 with the season opener at Losail, with the added bonus of F1 from Malaysia to make it a full weekend of motor sport.

Channel 4 broadcast a couple of UK weather documentaries, one late last year, and another early in 2015, one of them featured UK storm chasers. I'm pretty sure neither was related to this post though, normally the production companies contact us first and then we can help with info and getting people involved.
The December show was called Wildest Weather, broadcast on the 14th.

It's not really a limit as such Nick, most airlines allow 23kg, plus hand luggage so it's hard to bring too much gear.
Having soft luggage just makes it a bit easier to load the cars each day as we play 'bag Jenga' in the morning to get everything loaded and then the hand luggage bags/camera bags on top for easy access.

Hi Sandor
If you could drop me an email via ian (at) netweather.tv I'd be happy to go through some options with you.

Looks the same, so no last poster names, same as in portrait mode. It's just how it scales to fit the display, I don't think it's something we can change unfortunately.

That's odd as I have a Nexus 7 and a Fire HDX, both are widescreen, the Fire is the same resolution as yours 1920x1200 and both of them show the same layout, there isn't a mobile version as such, just dynamic scaling, so on a tablet the statuses go below the forum listings. Otherwise it's pretty much the same look.

Thanks for the feedback, it seems like there was a bug for some iOS 7 devices that causes the problem, an updated version has been sent for approval, hopefully Apple are a bit quicker getting revised versions through than they are with new apps.
iOS 8 is apparently fine.

Thanks for letting us know, we'll be checking into why some people are having problems tomorrow and will update here

Finally, all you apple fans can get your hands on the iOS version of the Snow Radar, just in time for the snow forecast to arrive over the next few days!
Please feel free to leave feedback or comments - a full version for subscribers to Extra is being developed to launch as quickly as we can too.

A quick response for you Mapantz
The modern skin is responsive, so doesn't have a mobile version, it's basically designed to load which ever style best fits the screen size it's being displayed on.
We've checked on a couple of tablets and both show the standard desktop. Mine is a 7" android version.
Can you let me know which tablet you are using please and what resolution it has (if you know), that might help narrow it down. A lower res screen could be behind the problem.

That's not one I can answer I'm afraid Mapantz, I'll forward it to the techies and see if they have any ideas.

Hi
We're looking to bring a new sales and marketing person on board to join the Netweather team.
It will be a part time role (16-20hrs per week) and you'd be working from home, reporting to the Sales Director (that's me), we're looking for someone local to Netweather HQ, ideally in the Sussex/Surrey area, so we can meet regularly, but if the right candidate comes along and lives outside this area we can work around it.
The role is to help us enjoy continued growth from both commercial clients and advertising partners, experience in sales and marketing is required, product training will be provided, as well as plenty of the on the job help and guidance.
Enthusiasm for the weather would definitely help, but isn't essential, especially if you have a proven track record in advertising and/or solution sales.
It's a salaried position plus commission.
In the first instance please email team (at) netweather.tv for more details, including a CV and brief summary of why you'd like to work with the Netweather team.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who'd like to know more

I don't Andy, I rely on the sky turning dark enough to not need a filter to tone it down.

Mine is still valid until summer, can't remember the bloody PIN though
There's a number on the back of the card Nick, call that, and go through a tedious automated ID check and a robot will tell you your pin. The $ rate is slowly creeping in the right direction too, $1.54 spot rate when I checked earlier, that's a lot of Walmart t shirts for me this year

I used to lug two camera bodies around all the time on tour, but after a while you realise that a wide zoom (I have a 12-24mm) covers 95% of pictures. For the longer range stuff you might be better off investing in a decent compact travel zoom camera, like the Panasonic TZ range, to save on bag space and you'll have a pretty cool all round compact camera to keep to hand wherever you are.

Wup's, Cheers for that Blue.. Any news as to why?
The parallel was scrapped due to a cascading error apparently.

A warmer than average start to Autumn has seen fashion sales hit, as nobody is ready to put away their summer clothes just yet

Heading "Into The Storm" at cinemas this week? Is it worth a watch? If you like, non stop action, great special effects and aren't looking for a documentary on chasing then it's a yes.

Weren't we huddled under a garage canopy for that one? That turned out to be not much help as the hail arrived horizontally.
