Evening all. Updates from Cleethorpes/Grimsby areas here: http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/Severe-Flood-Warning-Water-breaching-Cleethorpes/story-20267132-detail/story.html
Very heavy rain falling here at the moment accompanied by rumbles of thunder and occasional lightning. The worst of this seems to have gone out to sea though, but a potent enough cell nonetheless
Convection has been building steadily here all day, and a storm has just skirted to the north of me in the last 15 minutes. Four rumbles of thunder heard (and is still doing so as the storm moves ever further away), no lightning seen and a very brief but heavy shower of very large raindrops.
I cannot speak fro the whole of Lincolnshire, but in my little part of the county there has just been heavy, frontal-type rain, with no sign of any cumuliform cloud - just Nimbostratus. No lightning or thunder either.
Just had a period of quite heavy rain which has broken what has been an otherwise humid day, noithing electrical nor any rumbles of thunder though. Radar indicating that cells have deveoped on the southern edge of this rain area though.
morning all. Well we have snow here but not much, only a small covering. Not suprising really given the wet nature of the snow that fell and also the marginal conditions that prevailed. Radar showing somewhat of a clearance approaching from the SE.
23.1mms of rain here so far today. It has just about stopped now and the wind has increased yet again. Shipping forcast for area Humber reads as follows:
Humber
Shipping Forecast - Issued: 1625 UTC Mon 24 Sep
Wind Cyclonic 7 to severe gale 9, becoming south 5 or 6 later. Sea State Very rough or high. Weather Rain or showers. Visibility Moderate or poor, occasionally good.
The wind has started to strengthen here in the last 15 minutes or so as the rain shows signs of easing. There is a gale warning out for the Humber area this evening of force 7 to 9 winds from the East. That being the case expect gusts of around 50mph or more, especially on windward coasts.
and radar showing it continues to increase in velocity, and remains stuck over that area like someone has used superglue to hold it there
Quietning down here with only occasional rumbles now. No rain though despite skies remaining overcast.
