I was on the cairngorm plateau yesterday where there was far more snow than i had expected. Much of last weekends snow melted but there was plenty of fresh fallen snow from saturday night. Visibility was very bad but it was worth going up to find such new, deep snow- it was great fun.

Huge storm in Durness on the very far northwest coast on THursday pm. thunder and lightning overhead and torrential downpour. I was on the Cape wrath peninsular, where it wasn't so bad, but as I was pushing a punctured bike it it was still a bit scary. Further torrential downpours yesterday (Friday), in Tongue, on the north coast and roads like rivers at Crask Inn, south of Altnaharra.
