  1. And parts of Canada have seen 5’ of snow apparently. Literally our placement on the globe is THE worst for snow
  2. This is just for logging in? We’ll still be able to use our ‘handle’ so to speak?
  3. It would seem that down here in West Kent to have been a fairly ordinary windy night. Nothing of note at all for here. I feel for Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland. They’ve taken a battering.
  4. earth :: a global map of wind, weather, and ocean conditions EARTH.NULLSCHOOL.NET See current wind, weather, ocean, and pollution conditions, as forecast by supercomputers, on an interactive animated map. Updated every three hours.
  5. Depressing to have known all that moisture just sat out in the channel refusing to budge. Still, could be worse, Rod Stewart could be singing on the radio….
  6. I genuinely wonder just how all the models got it so wrong? Info, observations etc fed in, output generated on basis of said info and yet, utterly, hopelessly wrong. Even forecasts a couple days out seldom right. I still don’t understand the faith in them, at all.
  7. Let’s be honest though, on a percentage scale, how many of these Narnia charts actually verify? I’d stab at less than 1%. They’re as much use as a crystal ball when it comes to cold and Snow. Garden path stuff.
  8. I stand by my assertion that despite all the money, the computing power and the expertise of human forecasting, the models are no better than tea leaves. Rarely are they right. ‘Just for fun’ they should be labelled with
  9. Well after an intense week or two of epic runs and so on, it looks like another case of the UK snatching defeat from the jaws of victory lol. Refuse to get excited anymore. Prefer to see what actually falls out of the sky. Fingers crossed
  10. After the overnight runs it’s….. ……at day 10 again. Will they never Learn
  11. I don’t understand the technicalities to make an informed post on MOD thread but this I do know, until it’s down to T12/18 I don’t get excited and even then it can go toots up! I don’t get caught up in the hype anymore. Been led up that garden path far too often..
  12. For Northern France and Channel Islands it hasn’t been but for most it’s been a huge letdown from a weather perspective. Pleased in some ways but disappointed in other respects.
