  1. Has been snowing on and off all day, but for last half hour has been very heavy and now settling. Took a trip along A2 - laying snow from Bridge onwards - white all the way and across the downs at Barham.
  2. Has been snowing here for last hour, unfortunately too wet to settle following earlier rain/sleet, shame!
  3. Has been snowing continuously since posted earlier. Within last hour had huge flakes and snowing heavily, started to settle on grass, cars etc, not as heavy now.
  4. Started snowing here in Canterbury, unfortunately not sticking.
  5. Last hour has been a mixture of heavy rain, strong winds, hail and bit of sleet, currently 3.8c and nothing falling! Sun trying to breakthrough here
  6. Started snowing at 4.44 this morning (I know cos had to let cat out) now a good 2 inches, snowing hard again.
  7. Had some decent snow falling for 15 mins this morning from 9.15, tailed off with a bit of sleet. The snow from yesterday is slowly disappearing.
  8. At work in Whitfield, Dover there was an overnight fall of a good inch or so. Has been very little in way of thaw during the morning. Nothing other than some ice/slush at home, on route to work via A2 first lying snow begins at Bridge and gets thicker at Barham where again there was a decent fall, continued at same depth along A2 (which was down to one lane due to snow/slush). Caused a lot of problems in this area with numerous accidents on the roads, and not surprisingly the trains weren't running early on - wrong kind of ice?!
  9. Light snow has just started falling, first of day.
  10. Temp dropped in last hour, now 7.5c, sunny, although some cloud, gentle breeze.
  11. After a morning of continual heavy rain and strong winds, appears to be a bit of a calm at moment, although some rain still falling, 11.5c
  12. Wind dropped about an hour ago, rain also ceased. sun out 9.9c
  13. Very, very windy, rain lashing down, 8.9c
  14. has just hammered down with rain for last 15 mins, with strong gusts of wind again. Sun now out, wind dropped, 11.9c
  15. After what has been a difficult year following my Dad passing away, I'm happy to say my little nephew was born yesterday, he is called Marcus and weighed 8lb 11oz, not bad for a week early! . I'm sure my Dad is looking over him and raising a glass of the finest whiskey to him Mum and baby very well, and his big sister Rebecca was very excited to see him, she kept saying "Whats the problem?" every time he let out a little cry. And here he is at 6 hours old. Brother and sister-in-law had a bit of experience though, they were sent away from hospital at 9am has contractions weren't strong enough. Got home, contractions got stronger, left here at 11.15am, arrived at hospital at 11.45am and Marcus was born at 11.55am!
  16. Been a long time since last blogged, so whats been going on. Not a lot, July was too hot to do anything and August has been "average" and wet. However I confidently predict 2 weeks and one day of unbroken sunshine and no rain as on leave for 2 weeks. No plans, but just not at work which is always a good thing, plus spending lots of time with my other half No stress, no hassle, no being responsible, bliss. My niece is growing too fast and is a right little madam and monkey at times. She is so funny with some of the things she comes out with. Its great spending time with her and seeing the innocence of it all. She knows what she wants and when she wants it ie right that second. Every cat is Tiffany as thats my mums cat's name, although she calls one of ours Dorcey every now and then, even though she's called Chelsea. Wonder how my niece will react in 7 weeks time, as my sister in law is due to have a little boy. She loves other children but she'll no longer be centre of attention. Why is block paving so expensive? Having ours done in a few weeks as currently have paving slabs which move and flip up every time it rains. Hope they do a good job and no trouble. I have a fear of workmen and things going wrong when you have to shell out loads of money. My mum is still experiencing this as had new windows plus a conservatory built and theres been nothing but trouble, mistakes and sloppy workmanship. Funnily enough won't use same company when get my windows replaced.
  17. 20.1C, scattered cumulus, wind from the S.
  18. Grey, boring, gentle breeze, 15.1c
  19. Well they say it will get easier guess it is, but I still miss my dad and have my teary moments, like just before my birthday knowing he wouldn't be there for it. Was also hard on my niece's birthday as he adored and worshipped her but we all had fun at her birthday tea, with little 'un dashing through her new play tunnel time and time again, plus her repeating "Its' a tunnel, its, a tunnel" over and over. Other favourite word of the day was "WOW!" I got her one of those helium balloons with her heros, the Tweenies, on, dad had got her one last year so I did the same for her this year as thats what he would have wanted. We are now the proud owners of an exercise bike, that I bought from a friend. It is sitting there looking at me, menacingly. But it can't persuade me to get on it. Mr KS did 10 miles the other day. I might do 10 in a year, it doesn't suit my posterior
