  1. These charts are awful. That's it winters over. I was only going to believe in the GFS anyway.... (Sarcasm) Let's just keep our toys in the pram and wait to see what the ECM has to say. If your that desperate for some cold l assume you all have a freezer put you hand in there for a while and you can easily recreate a colder part of the world Simple
  2. Before we all get depressed by todays reality check charts lets just remember theres still plenty of chances with 4 months of potential fun to come No point in throwing all our eggs in one basket Sam
  3. And by FI we in a Scandi high! Fab GFS, you took your time but you got there!!!!
  4. I think my eyes have fallen out!! That looks LUSH!!!!! 6z is doing VERY WELL synoptically. Lets wait and see what the rest of the un brings. The only downside is the uppers are at -4 but thats just me being picky hehe!!! As we were (Winter forecast coming from myself soon)
  5. Excuse me for interupting your thread folks (Wales one is quiet!) South west side of the country may get some snow, as we have a North/North westerly coming in this week. This may also trigger a Pemroheshire Danger. This is a small feature that many models don't pick up on usually cause of the scale of the model is too big. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if we saw events similar to the 25th November 2005! Just don't take the models too seriously, they are only a guide to what MIGHT happen, not what WILL happen. Sam (keep your eyes peeled!!)
  6. Oh frosty you tease!!! haha!! I'm just wondering if the 6z will get more on board now....today is going to be interesting....
  7. I don't know about anyone else but I'm concentrating on one thing at a time. I'm personally more interested in next week mainly cause it could deliver some quite heavy snow showers along the western side on the UK ( November 2005 repeat?!). At this range we never know how much precipitation is likely till we get a bit closer. Honestly, don't panic folks! Theres still another three months to go until the end of winter! Lets just go with the flow
  8. West Wales may get a covering as winds are from the North West meaning the dangler will wake up...need to come home from Cardiff hahaha! If this Greenland block DID verify it would be a big treat for the west side of Wales with a Northerly Wind being most likely which would stir up that dangler again....we just need to make sure it looks in..... Its all to play for folks!!
  9. They are still part of the models, people just like to speculate about what may happen, hence the title Model Discussion
  10. I agree with this, but I'm not that fussed on having a cold spell in the last 10 days of November...lets get everything organised at the pole first...its interesting to see how things are going to be setup...I have always thought the autumn is to lay the foundations of winter e.g get everything in position, the changes that are happening now are very interesting to watch, it also improves our knowledge of how those changes take place.
  11. northerlys are the best for me..either that are or a NNW
  12. We are.... Could we please get back to topic on discussing the knife edge situation of a cold or mild winter please (I'm trying to learn a bit more for this year!) Thanks folks
  13. ECM is still carrying on its trend to cool down around 15th-17th of the month....
  14. But look at the Atlantic, its in a blocked state in that chart. What could happen is that high could move in to bring a milder spell of weather or we get some kind of change from mainland Europe....
  15. looks too amazing!!! Fingers crossed eh?! I posted that NASA chart to get the place talking.....seems to have worked
  16. I also found this from Joe B's twitter....this is the NASA winter forecast...
  17. My friends were there at the time, they were soaked though! No harm done, just very wet!
  18. shouldnt be longer than 12 hours probably even shorter than that
  19. Quite a few trees coming down now..please be careful if you are out..never under estimate the weather
  20. I saw that and I was like shovel ready haha!!! Let those snow charts roll!!
  21. Hi Guys, Just to let you all know that the forum chat room is open for discussion on tonights storm http://forum.netweather.tv/chat/ Pop in and say hello, even have a virtual drink or two See you in there Sam
  22. Thats because rivers are having a higher intake of water further west and on mountains..rainfall will always be heavier in these parts as less evaporation can take place between the cloud and mountain
  23. in the long range ECM charts yesterday there were already signs of -10 uppers over Russia....that needs to be watched....
