  1. I keep waiting for the heavy rain the met office keep forecasting, just never happens here
  2. Nowt here in Liverpool, grey skies and a smattering of rain early on, I give up
  3. I've just noticed this on my way back through South Liverpool, trees looking like the start of Autumn
  4. 27c here now and 42% humidity. Slept on top of the bed, windows open and the tower fan on me all night, managed to sleep until 6, so not bad. Sky was overcast before but clouds breaking up, some big cumulus showing out over the Irish sea. I hope we do get some storms later
  5. Sort of overcast here, currently 26.6. The sky looks menacing but the forecasts not showing any rain or thundery activity
  6. I'm the same, I love a nice typical British summers day, warm sunshine, we're it's nice to be out and about. We have a house near Cordoba in Spain, it is far too hot during the summer months, even to pick up a duster you break into a sweat. Too hot to sit out, too hot to be out and about, just sit indoors and watch tv or read, waste of time. He loves it I don't
  7. When you are told to stay out of the midday heat ie between 11am until 3pm, I don't understand it as when in Spain the main heat builds up about 5pm and its always the hottest part of the day
  8. 20 mins since I moved my thermometer into the shade its now showing 40.8c i (it went up 0.1c as I was reading it)
  9. I know, just been out and moved it, but the sun travels round the house everyday
  10. No Liverpool, thermometer is in the sun now
  11. Currently at 4.22pm its 43.1c here 20% humidity. Inside temp is 31.2c, back door is open though for the dogs to roam in and out
  12. 24.3c here, in the shade 48% humidity, the sky looks hazy
  13. I talked my other half into going to our house near Cordoba earlier this year, to avoid the high summer temps, only to get caught in a heatwave there in mid April. Thought a nice British summer through July/August here, here it comes again, thank god its only a couple of days. I'm just hoping there's a thunderstorm at the end of it
  14. According to my weather station the temp reached 33.8c here in North Liverpool around 2.30/3pm .
  15. 23.3c here on Merseyside, s beautiful summers day, temp inside 21.5c, back door wide open. When we in Spain the locals think we're mad as we open all the windows etc, typical Brits, but the hot air there does make the house hot
  16. I'm hoping that this hot spell will lead to some good Thunderstorms........ Every cloud and all that
  17. I hardly think it is going to make a Day After Tomorrow type movie, yes it is going to be very hot but for 2 days not 2 weeks or 2 months. Stay in the shade drink lots of water
  18. I hardly think it is going to make a Day After Tomorrow type movie, yes it is going to be very hot but for 2 days not 2 weeks or 2 months. Stay in the shade drink lots of water
  19. Our house has a courtyard which gets like furnace as it is enclosed, the house does get very hot, but as I said keep fluids up no exertion, even trying to dust in July and August is a big no no (good excuse to get out of house work) It is going to be hot, but only a couple of days, we'll be ok
  20. I regularly live in Córdoba Spain for long periods and have experienced temperatures of 43plus. Common sense prevails, stay indoors, close windows and curtains, keep intake of fluids up. My mobile phone has always worked, unless I leave it out in the sun. I have sat out in it albeit under a parasol with sunscreen on. From what I can see it is a couple of days, in Córdoba it can be 2 months, think the media is cranking it up
  21. Just witnessed a massive thunderstorm in Rouen France, looks to be heading out over the English Channel
  22. Just had very heavy rain here in Nrth Liverpool, and an eerie yellow glow, but no thundery activity
