  1. I was so unbelievably lucky to visit Devon Mid June this year and last both times temps were in the low 30s! Ive visited Devon 7 times now and not seen a drop of rain and barely a cloudy day in all 7 visits that I remember haha
  2. If were talking about longer term-, Losing our -NAO in time for Autumn/Winter would be about typical, strengthening El Nino? We will wait and see? + IOD all favour mild unsettled SWly winter correct me if Im wrong although meant to be a Easterly QBO but im not bought by that effect either plenty of colder west QBOs
  3. Thats interesting I always thought of August to be the least sunniest nationwide due to.the active storm season kicking in and those often humid plumey followed by unsettled episodes here too even in the SE. I always find Early September to be a dry sunny period quite often and someone mentioned it im sure on this forum too
  4. Fantastic news after going back to work this week im off to Cornwall 1st September for my first ever visit with my mum it often is nice around mums birthday (31st August) and statistically early September is the sunniest part of the year! I rarely book hols during the little devil's hols too busy everywhere
  5. Perfect im back to work got a long weekend off this weekend to enjoy high 20s going Eastbourne tennis Monday then it goes downhill then im off work again 16 days from 8th july
  6. No keep it going I'm off to Devon that week dont mind a Northeasterly there haha Joking. hopefully the high ends up east of the UK then we will all be warmer air as per one of yesterday's ECM clusters evolution
  7. Thank you wouldn't it be lovely to be able to afford two homes one for summer one for winter my place would be a winter snow lovers dream if only we had snow!
  8. Depends on the type of property my new build flat with little ventilation is an absolute heat trap already its in the 20s inside! I hardly ever have to put the heating on even on cold winter days summer it's an absolute nightmare way too hot was mid 30s inside during the heatwave not much less than outside! Lost one of my pets due to overheating unfortunately in July
  9. When I last checked the models a few days ago I was thinking oh crap I'm off to the Canaries Tusday until next Saturday and it looked potentially warmer and sunny here than there which showed showers. Thank god its changed there now to ! Shocked by how much its changed here for this coming week why is it that in winter when we're cold chasing cold synoptics tend to get watered down to mild not the opposite like this!
  10. I'm also off to the Canaries a week after you I see they've just had record high March temps as well as a lot of other areas seeing 30c in France was crazy!!
  11. Its def been an interesting year thats for sure with the record heat its still annoying that here in Gravesend we still havent replaced the disbanded weather station as we regularly broke heat records and often back when i was delivery driving wed be hotter than Heathrow London and Cambridge etc especially in Southerly and SWly wind set ups. Jan 25th 2021 was a kick in the teeth all the hype of snow from the west and we ended up with rain and sleet then too when 10miles north south and west had snow even central London
  12. Not more rain lol. This spell has added to my list of failures 5hours of heavy snow that didnt settle after beginning as rain (the last hour& a bit did on roofs and cars) then about 20mins of it starting to try to settle as it finally got cold enough as it stopped leaving barely a dusting. Im def in a snow shield zone when it comes to Northerlies or channel lows coming up- It's too late for a beast to save the day now hope we get a proper easterly next winter. The attached image is what I want to see wind direction wise next winter winds from Eastern Europe in -8 or colder 850HPA temps and minus dewpoints wetbulbs in play etc. Is it too much to ask for just once? Not since late 2010 have we had a decent snowfall here. 2018 was very disappointing given the temps with a South of East flow ruining the snow potential here too. Glad others got some decent falls, and I dont expect any here atleast I had some in December I guess my fave time to see the white stuff.
  13. I really hope that moves further south for us snow starved low-lying areas with nothing but a slush fest so far
  14. I should move further S/SW absolutely crap here in proper NW Kent! Heavy snow for many hours settled on cars eventually with a slush fest elsewhere and just as it looked like finally starting to settle (look white on the pavement) its stopping. Almost as bad as December 2017 and more recently 25/01/21 here oh well atleast we had some in December id prefer it then
  15. Im glad im on night shifts back in late Jan I was too when there was falling snow and some settled 15mins south of here in the Downs I also was on nights 11th December which is funny as I only work them every 5-6 weeks too lol it must know i like the white stuff!!
  16. Dont I have nightmares from that i was 2miles too far south in the rain and sleet north of the Thames/M4 got plastered
  17. Looks like rain for most of the SE away from West/NW parts of the SE
  18. Nationwide snow on GEM this weekend (Apart from Cornwall) In the meantime perhaps a high ground dusting for some today. Wednesday im just in the zone looks promising still.
  19. There was a period of several years mid 90s and early 00s i remember Medway used to do well for snow my mum.moved there in Jan1992 and I remember countless times there being nothing or very little at dads in Dartford yet Medway always seemed to get more but I admit recent years its not been great for there. I remember getting stuck several times at my friends in Lordswood too when there was nothing on low lying areas down the road
  20. Nope the chart posted shows light blue shadings over my area As for geography it was my strongest subject and i taught the class during a Geography tutorial at uni the tutors had that much faith in me...
  21. A little sprinkling here in NW Kent id be happy with a dusting tbh now were nearing mid March by this stage
