1. Some useful Rain heading for Cornwall on the radar - but not here it seems. 10 mins of rain yesterday evening barely wetted the ground. Went out in it, quite the novelty. Hope for some over the next couple of days, before high pressure again - else you can forget hay this year town rabbits and town grass eating people.
2. I don't think Paul M should push Paul S into meat eating if he doesn't want to. If Paul S has been thinking about cutting down his meat intake then that's cool. Everybody that I know thinks that is cool. Nobody is thinking that you suddenly need to leap into veganism. I don't think that Paul M should be trying to market meatweather.tv using Paul S. That is really uncool and I do wonder sometimes in what direction exactly is Paul M trying to take this site. What does Karl think? How does 72 ounce of cow work out for netweather being carbon neutral? Did you read the last National Geographic about water? Yours, interested.
3. "smells alot like teen spirit" Exactly what I was just thinking. Like stormy rain after a heaty long dry spell. Around ten degrees, with light rain. The light wind blows from the SSW. Tasted a bit of the rain and it doesn't have any flavour, thought it might be a bit volcanic like Evian. Wrong direction suppose.
4. A long time without rain and very dry air yet the pond still is fullish and it isn't a pond more a quarry different this year maybe
5. It would be great if other people contributed to this thread with photos/descriptions/EWA (eye witness accounts). We surely can't have been the only ones to witness (or nearly witness) this historic renegade flight IRL (in real life)
6. It's a shame I was sitting at a computer and trying to follow a 'blip' on the internet really. Lesson learned hopefully!
7. Missed the plane plane because I was trying to locate it with the virtual radar on my computer, looked like it was over Devon (Doh, slap forehead). Went outside to find it had flown overhead, as they do. Took this photo at least half an hour after it had passed, probably a bit more. Then waited for it to return but never did (between about 8:10 to 8:40PM). Nice to come back a different way to the way you went I suppose, like a walk.
8. Was watching that virtual radar for the 747 from Heathrow. Just been outside and there's a big fat, spread contrail overhead going east-west.
9. Looks like sferics from the ash plume? http://andvari.vedur.is/athuganir/eldingar/
10. Warm and sunny. RH says below 40%.
11. Blazing sunshine with a light breeze yet again. Incredibly dry air lately (for here anyway), relative humidity dropped below 40% a couple of times last week. Outlook appears to stay pretty dry in Wales, or at least no significant rain, for the next five days, according to GFS and ECMWF I think.
12. Just goes to show, even fancy Netweather lite doesn't have a clue.
13. I'm not sure I can be responsible for my actions if we don't (again) get a summer. 2nd line
14. At first, before clicking the link, I thought it was a hungry desperate bear attacking a chained up pet dog. After clicking the link, I feel a bit foolish, because clearly the comments point to some sort of bear/dog huggy feely relationship thankfully.
15. About 3 or 4C, vague drizzle. Wasn't expecting any weather, thought it would be dry - durrr.
16. Possibly Lake Effect snow heading out of Croyden down the M4. Radio Wales might not be too far out:wacko:
17. Some great posts on this thread lately compared to how it was looking earlier for a while!! Just a tip before I sod off. I'm getting a good supply of logs into the house tomorrow for the stove, and then covering up the wood as best possible. Can't beat burning dry wood (and what a great drying season we have had) and getting maximum heat out of it - beats burning wet wood and seeing much of the heat go up the chim evaporating water. Thermodynamics in action. Thats my plan - nos da
18. I'm expecting prolonged snowfall Sunday into Monday with probably more snowfall as we go through the week, perhaps worse. This time there will be wind also (which I haven't had yet). I was only 5 in '81, but somehow (maybe Super8 cine home footage) remember the HUGE drifts over roads, filled upto the hedge tops, with barely any snow in the middle of fields. From what I'm told (many times) there wasn't really that much snow. Good luck getting to your exams (wouldn't it be better to have all the exams in the hayfever season?)
19.

-9C here. Thought it would be a bit warmer tonight, because was expecting a bit of a breeze, but it's flat calm. Min was -11C this morning, so could be similar again.
20. New precipitation forecast from the Icelandic Met Office Jackone posted yesterday recently out. http://en.vedur.is/weather/forecasts/atlantic/#teg=temp&type=prec
21. About -8C, clear and very nearly calm. Last nights min was about -9C.
22. Snowing near Llandysul at 550'. Need to go out in a bit :/
