  1. Peaked at ~21C in the breezy workshop today with all windows and doors open, humidity touched ~40% R/H, sucking the wood towards an equilibrium moisture content around 8%. Outside (hey, the winky smiley has gone!) prolly a touch warmer and drier, without the concrete walls heat sink. Shame I can't do that in the winter!

  2. Around 9C, though was 8C at some point earlier it says.  A light, steady wind from about North.  It's the sort of summer weather that could reduce a grown man into a gibbering wreck.  Lit the stove this evening and yesterday.

  3. As I understand it, he was trying to save the souls of 5 adventurous teenagers and their dog who were sailing in an inflatable and rather cheap rubber duck near the Forty Mile Ground, in inclement conditions - when he was swallowed by a giant fish! Unfortunately Talk Talk (the only internet service provider worth a hoot for the Shetland Islands region, so I hear) is unable to guarantee a reasonable wireless service through 6 inches of blubber to the popular meteorological website they call Metweather.

  4. Superb potential for summery weather in the 3 models we respect (UKMO, ECMWF & GFS) for the last few days. High pressure building, centred in the NW of the UK at 120 hrs. What could possibly go wrong? We've been here before - and don't you feel that the NWP models will enhance this summer weather as we go on in time? Ultimately though, there will come a time, in July when god decides enuff is enuff and it needs to rain very awfully to put us in our place? I think a village in Hampshire might suffer this year. Also Milton Keynes might disappear.

  5. What's that egg on face thing? It looks from Meto radar that it is getting fierce maybe at the far south east tip of UK. I will be impressed with meto if they called this right. I would be more impressed if netwx called it first. (now I really DO need to go to bed and stop watching - or at least pretend to)

  6. What's that bloke from BBC Bristol sayin'. He's well into storms and highly sympathetic to westerners. My own theory (for what it's worthy) is a combination of (that bloke from BBC Bristol and our own regular Pit). I think if we can meet them in the middle somewhere we might be on to something? I'm aware that it doesn't sound great...

  7. Soz off topic modz. Can't say I've ever had good ale from Florida, but I have for sure had some proper ale from Devizes and Cornwall. (I think I'd better go now:drinks:) On topic, some amazing clods at sunset here in west and I could just tell there had been some T storms about. Surprised to find they were on the otherside of our island tho! G'nite

  8. Got into this late , and don't really want to be a **** but meto warning issued at 00:30 for heavy rain was for far south east tip UK. But looking over the radar the big action was Lincs Co. Not sure I have a point, but just incase the meto did want to sue me (I haven't really got anything for them to take - though fingers crossed I might have some nice celery come the Autumn)

  9. Really? must be quite isolated then lol because there's nothing here!

That sort of sounds like you are doubtful, just because you don't have it yet? May your fishpond overflow soon and your newly planted celery seedlings get washed away. (just kidding - I hope none of that awfulness happens)
