    Don't have any weather station with me here in Aberystwyth but gusts in the 40s I would say here, expecting that to nearly double later though going by the forecasts!

    Im in the same situation doing BSC Geography and need to think what I want to do for my dissertation next year! Not something I look forward to, I was thinking something on Disaster Management for mine though! What uni are you at?

    Will be moving to Tondu in a month and a halfs time or so, though I will be at university in aber then so will only be spending the holidays there! though its not far from where I am now so doubt it will change any of my luck with the weather esp as its low ground aswell at 66m! Though not much I have had more thunder and lightning so far in 2014 than i did all last year I think! Hope this year will be a good one for storms!

    I hope things in Aberystwyth have calmed down by the time I go back at the end of the month for university! Luckily my house is up by campus not on the seafront!

    Had some heavy hail showers today and some thunder and lightning aswell with gusty winds!

    Very windy day with some strong gusts, though my weather station doesn't seem to be recording the stronger gusts Had a shower earlier that gave a flash of lightning and thunder which I wasn't expecting!

    Currently 3.5c here with a sleet shower! Been so long since I last saw proper snow as didnt get to last year so hope its not too long till it arrives!

    Just had an intense downpour with very heavy sleety hail and strong winds plus some thunder and lightning just for good measure!

    Have to say that for my area this storm hasn't been that bad! Had some heavy rain which has now stopped and its been windy but nothing too bad, seems we missed the worst of it!

    Mixture of hail and sleet here, been some decent size snowflakes in the showers too!

    I don't expect to see any snow next week, despite being about 100-120meters asl being in a costal town that really hampers my chances! I don't think many will see much being the time of year it is so I don't understand why some people, such as in the model thread expect a proper winter snowfall this time of year? hmm I think some people are a bit desperate to get snow!!

    The wind in Aberystwyth the other day was quite bad and I was down the sea front for a short while watching those waves which can be seen in the video on the bbc, it was crazy but so cool to watch! Had a slight frost here thismorning, first one of the season!

    Just had some of the heaviest rain I have seen in a long time here in Aberystwyth! Good luck to those north of here!

    Being in Aberystwyth it would be good to get some deep cold and then a north westerly that would deliver snow showers off the irish sea, however I doubt this will happen as being a costal town we hardly see any snow compared to other areas! Maybe it will be nice and give some good falls when I go back home over xmas! I just hope we haven't used up all our luck and end up with a mild mushy winter!
