Believe it when it happens, with all this heat about the conditions will be right at some point for a storm, I feel straw clutching is probably more likely for the time being! Anyway a heat health watch today with possibly the warmest temps of the summer so far for some, we had 29.3 here Sunday so that is the bench mark to beat here in Bridport!
My weather station said it was 31.5 at 1400 last Sunday but when I read the national high was 29 something in Dorset I came to the conclusion mine must be wrong! It's reading 31.2 as I type...

Well S DEvon has a temp of 0 and dew point of-4 surely this would mean any thing that fell would be snow. Is the temp due to rise significantly or am I , after many sleepless nights, in with a chance of a flake?
I'm wondering the same. For the first time since this snowy spell started I have frost on my car.

I'm following Ian F on twitter and I have to admire the man's patience.
I may be way off the mark but is the 'messy occlusion' beginning to show on the Netweather radar just off SW Ireland?

Happy Birthday GTLTW! I'm sure I'm not the only infrequent poster who appreciates you and the others for keeping this thread bobbing along with a great mix of information and observations as well as a bit of banter. It is so friendly! And more than a little bit addictive!

Blimey!! Someone from the village said there was a ridiculous amount of traffic!! Been the busiest I have ever seen it in Princetown. The owner of the pub where me, the missus and 2 other friends built our snow family reckons the must be the most photographed snowmen in the country!! Haha!! Here goes, will post again!!
Judging by my Facebook, half of Torbay were heading your way looking for snow! In years past friends have done this and spent six hours stuck and not done any sledging so I don't think I'd attempt it. Love your snowpeople!

Thanks for all the snowy good wishes for Monday. It would be nice to have just one snow day (for the kids of course )
Still think it might fall as rain here, as per yesterday, but nothing wrong with a bit of hope.

Newton Abbot rain and 3c
Welcome to South Devon. From now on also called Larry Letdownland.

Just sleety, wet, cold and 'orrible here. To all who get snow today - enjoy!

David Braine's forecast on Spotlight appeared to show splodges of snow for hereabouts on the leading edge from as early as around 8pm.

Currently snowing very very lightly here. According to the nearest weather station at Brixham, it's currently 5.1c with a dew pont of -3. And that's at a higher elevation (54m) than here which is approx 20 meters asl and less than half a mile from the sea.

Morning! Has anyone read Matt Hugo's post on the MOD? (post #141).
He shows a fax chart and talks about a change that means 'parts of the south may see an increase'. Which part and an increase in what (? snow) are beyound my understanding. Has anyone here got any thoughts on this please?

Has anyone seen this yet? http://www.bbc.co.uk.../feeds/21027548 lots of uncertainty still!
Yes, I just looked at it via the link on Ian F's Twitter. I was going to try and post it here but probably would have made a pigs ear of it. So glad you have!

Good morning! Can I join in? I'm a regular reader but don't post because I'm not very knowledgable.
Looks like interesting times ahead. I find this http://www.yr.no/sat..._animasjon.html really helpful in getting my head around the bigger picture - is it me or is the stuff currently in Scotland and the NW gathering pace as it moves south?
I've made the mistake of telling friends and family it will probably snow - so that will have put the tin hat on it!
A very slight frost here this morning in usually balmy Torbay.

Not a breath of wind here on the central South Coast at the moment, very quiet and very odd. Could this be the lull before the storm?
Delurking after many months with a 'Hi' and 'thank you' to all you knowledgeable folk who have informed my very amateur interest in all things weather. I agree, Kent. I'm in Torbay and it is weirdly still this evening. I recall a really windy (slight understatement!) afternoon in autumn 2000 and prior to that the morning had been unusually still. I am watching the low progress on the satellite images with interest.

Thank you! I have bookmarked this so I can compare how much I am out by. Looks like around 6 degrees.
