  1. Not the big cooldown as forecast damn , at least no horrific heat forecast going forward from here but I suspect Saturday will still be very warm , its now outstayed its welcome , still cant cool the house down , at least next week looks better to rid the house of this disgusting heat
  2. To say I am galled is an understatement, a full week of enduring temps at around 30c everyday here which has been hell... and not even a whiff of a thunderstorm , and non in the forecasts, apart from the usual places (yawn) Central parts of NW England have had some of the hottest conditions in the UK in this spell , but the storms just stay away , apart from a short lived isolated storm over Manchester yesterday . just not good enough , Today has been a little less hot , but Saturday now looks dry with temps still at 26c , so you can add on a degree or two to that , Not the cooldown here as predicted , hopefully sunday sees the proper cooling setting in . Sick as a pig of sweating
  3. still 26c outside here at 22.30, no breeze and the bedroom is like a sauna . wigan is currently one of the warmest spots in the uk , even london is only 22c , what the hell is going on ? the temps are very reluctant to fall , god this getting tedious , another night where sleep will be hard to come by , hate this now
  4. thermometer peaked at 31c , today was another day of purgatory at work in this stifling heat , not convinced tomorrow will feel any better , forecast is for only 26c but I think thats another underestimation as they have been all week , saturday will be the main cooling , If we dont get any thunder after enduring this draining heat I will be livid ,
  5. I normally like fine summer weather followed by thunderstorms , like we used to get in the 80's and 90's , but this spell has been just horrific heat here , and storms are not even a cert anymore . 30c plus all week . hard to sleep , and even harder to work , get about 2,00pm in the afternoon and its purgatory loose interest in doing more work , roll on Saturday
  6. I used to get excited over up and coming hot sunny spells. especially when the tstorms were forecast as the spell went on , I dread hot spells now , really disrupts my sleep , going to work on no or little sleep in heat is torture . Dont get me wrong I haven't turned into a proper cold fan , I hate prolonged icy spells in winter for different reasons , but I can cope with it better , Still like the storms heat can bring though , but even them are pot luck these days . I like 20c to 23 c in summer and 7c to 12c for winter , I suppose that makes me a mildy . This heat is not 'mild' weather
  7. I lot of people will suddenly have to islolate this week no doubt.... hmmmm
  8. 29c a lot hotter than forecast, dont like it, the bbc forecasts seem to underestimate the temps really dont like heat anymore , how you change when you get older
  9. Just a day of light messy rain here , thunderstorms ? what thunderstorms
  10. No thunder here yesterday , I dont normally go chasing storms , always feel like its a wild goose chase to me ,,,but watching all that frenzied lighting activity on the radar was obvious it was going to cross the M62 around the huddersfield halifax area , so a choice ,,,watch england or have a very good chance of seeing a decent storm at dusk , no brainer , off in the car and timed it perfect , quiet roads too, The drive through one of the intense rain cores was scary on motorway, pulled off near Huddersfield and watched a bit of lighting and heard some deep explosive sounding thunder ,
  11. This overcast grey stratus, clagg and moderate rain dross seems to be lingering longer than the forecast implied , when does the sunny spells and heavy cumulonimbus stuff move in ?
  12. Maybe Bill Gates plan of reducing sunlight to combat global warming has been going on , on the hush , I am not one for conspiracy theories mind It really does feel like what a nuclear winter would be like during summer months
  13. When we have a dry warm spring we are always talking about paying for it later with drab summer and it seems to be the case , the weather tends to balance out. Funny how the reverse seems not to happen as often, will we have to 'pay' for a having a cool wet spring by having a dry warm summer ? hmmmmm
  14. If this was mid winter the current temps would be classed as 'mild' and being a mildy myself I dont mind the current temps , good for sleeping ! I hate extreme cold and I hate high summer heat , I like it 'mild' you should be gloating at the very hot weather lovers ! , but I fear some heat will eventually get us later in the summer
  15. The same storm that I had , like said it was very potent and took me by surprise
  16. quite a potent storm near here earlier , regular lightning and a few CG, hail , flash flooding on the roads, surprised at this one for here edit.....another torrential downpour, but not thundery yet ,
  17. some vigorous cumulus cauliflower heads lit up brilliant white by the sun , blue sky around too, not expecting much here, nothing much ever does , I expect any heavy/thundery showers that do develop will go up a good few miles west of here and miss , or to the east and pass up that way , seems the norm
  18. Ok another moan from me A prolonged period of cool/ below average temperatures and, according to climate change zealots just the weather doing its natural variations A prolonged period of warmth .....oh look more evidence of global warming , now stop driving your car and pay more tax please
  19. Its the first proper mild day here today , and its been sunny and bright with it, 12 c lovely ! l
  20. Me ! I want to drive to work and get there in one piece, Actually I dont mind cold , as long as its not pipe freeing stuff , its snow I dont want, cold dry crisp sunny days are fine BTW I hate high temps too , anything over 27c is unwelcome , as is anything under -4 , Proper mildy me haha , thats why I will be always be living in the UK , perfect temps most of the year , just wish we had more Thorms,
  21. A few small snowgrains floating around here , but not much , looks like persil washing powder
  22. Its because widespead heavy snow is 'rare' in these so called warming times , and for some people it all brings back memories of childhood playing in the snow , I was the same , but I have grown out of that , I dont mind fresh transient snow if I dont have to travel in it , its fun to watch , and then for it to vanish soon after , lingering snow that turns grey and brown and then refreezes is vile , and it looks vile , it is what inevitably happens here, cant for the life of me see the appeal
  23. Hmmmm hope so, but I think this could change again , my bet is the cold will linger beyond the weekend , or even reload , it can be stubborn . I wonder if the extreme cold in North America with spill into the atlantic and fire up the jet , the jet then bulldozing its way over the UK , One to watch ? nothing suggests that at the moment though
