Been wild and snowy few days at Glencoe since a snap thaw/freeze cycle late Saturday evening! In a few short clips: Should be more of the blue sky and less of the wind on Wednesday - given the outlook it's drop everything and go for a slide at Nevis or Glencoe on Wednesday!5 points

Och you're grand biggrey, if we were to start policing comments that joked about the met office warnings being southern centric/over the top at times, then the kilted would be a quieter, less cynical, less funny, less informative place Snows stopped, more showers on the way, but the sun is oot and it's rather glorious for now. Had a nice wee jaunt behind the hoose5 points

So my estimate of 4 inches seems to have been rather conservative. I just had a look outside and its definitely more than we had January 14th which was about 6 inches. Just saw on twitter where someone measured snow depth here - and its 9 inches! A couple of pictures here. Back garden and my view out the front...sideways for some reason! Snowing again now.5 points

Some good reports and pics. Here in Crail nothing as impressive but we do have a slight cover on grassy surfaces. Nothing measurable but the first dusting in 2 years. I'd take a photo but you'd only laugh. ;-) Overnight min -0.5c.5 points

Did well here last night, about four inches lying. Not in any rush to get out of bed though haha.5 points

Another reminder from me of what winter is capable of around here when the perfect conditions align: January 1982, Nelson. It has to be at least 60-70cm deep in the second-to-last pic, judging by its depth compared to the windows. This picture from nearby Treharris seems to show even greater depth, but I'm not sure if this is 1963 or 82. Perhaps somebody more knowledgeable about cars knows the answer. Now, let's look forward to a potentially warm, sunny Spring and whatever Summer brings, it'll nice to see the lush, verdant foliage again, and let's hope next winter is drastically different to the one currently in its death throes.4 points

7.9°C and sunny here. Cold wind though. An cracking temperature drop after that hail shower early this morning.. I don't know if you can seee this pic or not? I can see the moonbow on my phone- it's bad quality because i had to take the pic fast, as it was fading, so i had no time to to adjust the iso or shutter speed on my phone.. It looked awesome as it headed towards Poole & Bournemouth..3 points

You know, for us sitting here in the NE basking in the sun under blue skies yet again it's kind of surreal to hear and read the reports of snow on here and on the radio traffic reports. Only slight consolation is that it was -1.8C this morning at 8am, so another air frost even if there wasn't really any evidence of it on the ground. I'd love to see the actual stats for this area but my feeling it that this winter has been cool but never really overly cold, sunnier than average and drier than average. Better than last year's rainfest by a long way but not one that will be remembered in these parts. Forecast high of 13/14C on Saturday for here is going to feel quite strange, and may kill off the eastern ski resorts for the season.3 points

5-6 inches and sustained heavy snow. Has been a far from disappointing winter for this area, if anything it's been average, which means plenty snow3 points

Schools are closed, no buses due to jackknifed lorry in village. Traffic crazy. We're going sledging. Wooo3 points

Snaw gear on for the first time since 2011, about to brave the walk to school, with daughter on a sledge.3 points

Typical. Decent snowfall at home just as I head north in search of decent snowfall Up in Caithness and Sutherland. As is often the case with southwest winds, this little corner of the north stays stubbornly dry...but we did get some last night and this afternoon to make the hills look the part. Up on Morven, the highest point in Caithness this afternoon: And the Ben Griams, northwest of Kinbrace just as light was fading this afternoon: Enjoy the snow down south!3 points

Got to say that was the best snow fall I've seen for a while in the port this morning - probably since the 80s to be honest, although I know there was one that matched it in 2011 I wasn't there - great last breath of winter though! Will give winter this year an 8/10 considering 10/10 would be as best as we usually get (2010/11 style) not a snowmaggedon that probably happens once every 100 years.2 points

A few flakes on the ground here this morning, not even a covering. We really are the poor relations on the east coast since 2010. Not one bit of lying snow since then.2 points

2-3inches when i woke this morning. Sun is certainly out though and doing some damage now to that. 2C here. Beautiful out in it though. :-)2 points

2-3 inches here in Stirling. Lovely big flakes at times, roads are pretty clear though. Snowing again now but sleet/rain is forecast later so enjoy the beauty while it lasts2 points

Obviously most snow here since March 2013 although melting now. Still incredible to see (and not bad to say snow lying each of the last 4 months) Not bad at all that2 points

All other schools in the area are closed and my daughter's school are only just after posting on Facebook that they haven't been notified of any closures but will update if they hear anything. Dreams of a snow day are slipping away lol.2 points

I'm afraid the met office used up their budget for snow warnings and snow graphics when there was a couple of snow flurries forecast for se engerrland in mid February.never mind come mid December there will b plenty again (only to be taken away 12 hours later) lovely morning here 10cm snow 0.0c2 points

Not much more here overnight. Generally about an inch to 2inches. Met office going for a prolonged period of sleet and snow this afternoon, who kbowa if that'll settle2 points

Now that's snow! Big chunky flakes and inch apart this morning, about 3 inch at least lying on cars, left the port and got to Paisley where it's hardly anything just flurries and no ground covering.2 points

A nice covering on the roads now with the latest shower just hitting, maybe a touch more than our previous best this winter.2 points

Expect the wind to really pick up with the next batch Ronan compared to earlier. Snow really building up now. Heaviest snow since January here.2 points

It's evening lying in town! Was properly blizzarding on the way to pipe band and deep in Armadale but it stopped by the time I got out. Looks like a few more showers could hit overnight too - superb start to spring!2 points
