  2. Floatylight Your interpretation. It shows a 11°C max for your location.
  3. May 2020 by some distance. May 2018 had some very warm and humid weather, but there were also storms around whereas 2020 was pretty much bone dry with loads of sunshine.
  4. May 2018 was amazing and thundery but May 2020 has to take it here just because of how crazy it was to see over 300 hours of sunshine in one month. Cloudless on like 2/3 of the days that month! I'd also like to mention May 2023 which down here was exceptional. Warmer than both, sunnier than 2018, and a bone dry second half in which every day hit 20c. All three had a handful of poor days in the first half but followed by 2-3 weeks of outstanding weather.
  5. Depressingly wet last night when Mrs FLT and I had to go out. Very damp this morning but signs of it drying and brightening up, with glimpses of blue sky and a gusty wind. Hopefully it will be dry for the weekend.
  6. Especially if it's just the stock iphone or android weather app you're using. I get why the layman may use those, but weather nuts like us shouldn't go anywhere near those!
  7. danm I need to use the Met more! The apps on the phone are just woefully inaccurate
  8. We were meant to have showers this morning, so i'm sat inside house instead of sealing the patio. But it's 'kin dry with sunny spells and some cloud. So, do i wait another hour and see what materialises OR do i just get on with it? If it showers later the stuff will run or go white spotty.
  9. 12.5mm picked up this morn for previous 24hrs. April so far 131.7mm. Year so far 683.1 mm. Record wet April measured here was 181.9mm in 1970. but that followed a very dry March and then we had a dry May and June. Jolly bleak unless sun pops out. Very glad I made a batch of Xmas puds just before Easter. Still 2 left.
  10. The Met Office forecast from yesterday (see below) looks pretty bang on. Cloudy, chilly, damp morning to be replaced by showers in the afternoon:
  11. ANYWEATHER As of yesterday, today was meant to be sun and cloud here but now raining most of the day and cloudy later, so I wouldn't bank on anything re tomorrow's weather. The forecast can and does change even just hours ahead of time! Wouldn't surprise me if tomorrow is cloudy and showery also. Yes, I'm being pessimistic admittedly, but it's hard not to be after the last; 12 months of weather.
  12. Looking forward to some nice sun surprises the weekend. Had enough of this permi-cloud now. Even if it’s not raining it’s virtually cloudy all the time! I don’t want wall to wall sunshine but a 50% chance of sunshine through the day will help lift the gloom on peoples faces
  13. Cracking morning here, bit chilly but no worse than to be expected at the time of year. A beautiful fresh spring morning. Hopefully the first of many.
  14. Metwatch Definitely an improvement, but still not great, especially considering another wet spell could easily push back the drying-out that's being achieved. Sunshine hours has been poor this April and will continue to be poor throughout the remainder of the month, looks like. Going to have soggy, saturated ground into May, it seems! Our garden is still ridiculous spongy and wet. Not something I've ever seen in my lifetime this late in the year.
  15. Today
  16. SunnyG Getting paid triple figures per year for a job where you can have a ridiculously low success rate and not be fired? Or getting paid triple figures per year for a job where you can say to everyone "it's going to be some degree of cloudy, and also some degree of wet" daily and then put your feet up. Probably a combo of both. Either way, I'd be smiling too!
  17. The day started off ok here, if chilly, but the howling wind is again in full blast. Eff off already, come back when it’s hot!
  18. Good grief, the weather today is far more dire than forecasted. Dull, gloomy, windy and chilly. Looking to be showers later too, lol. It was showing as 13c and mostly sunny when I looked yesterday. So much for "high pressure".
  19. BTW 127.7 mm for the month (that's gone up a lot since I last checked), 401 mm for the year!
  20. Sun's been out for ages here. Been dry for ages as well but there's obviously been some rain today as I've recorded 0.4 mm but I'm not sure when it was.
  21. Can't think of worse time in history to be a meteorologist when it seems it's been an age since they've provided a forecast that gets the smiles back on faces. It's like the weather is broken! However, even though its cloudy without a chance of meatballs, it's dry and I bloody hope we can go at least a week without rain!
  22. LetItSnow! Exactly what isn't needed after the 6 month monsoon season we've just had and a stupidly high water table.
  23. cheese Very poor. But they did just come off the back of a pretty solid spell of 18-25c+ sunny weather nearly across the board! The only glimpse we got of anything close to that was last Saturday. Which, judging by the forecasts for the next 7-10+ days, will be the only warm, sunny day the rest of this month delivers.
  24. A cloudy and breezy night with a few outbreaks of light rain or drizzle. Showers earlier this morning but at the moment it's dry with brief sunny intervals. At 0800 g.m.t Temp; 7.8c 24 hr max; 10.7c 24 hr min; 6.4c Grass min; 5.9c Rainfall in 24 hrs ending 0800 g.m.t; 1.2 mm Mean wind speed; 26 mph W/NW 7 oktas St and Sc Vis; more than 50 miles Showers in past hour
