I Do....
Well today has been a very funny day....after much deliberation and procrastination (we've been living together for 9 years!) Mr Roo and myself decided to get married....This entailed convincing two friends that, no, we were not joking, that it would be a purely legal affair and that, yes, there would only be the four of us....So three weeks ago we approached the register office: slightly bemused lady who didn't quite know what to do when we told her we wanted the shortest service possible, wouldn't be having rings, and didn't want the £350 an hour room for the service....just an office would do....Anyway after muttering a few things about commitment and proper ceremony (I felt like pointing out that after 9 years, one 25 year joint mortgage and a baby on the way, I didn't think we'd have any problem showing commitment, but hey, life is too short) she relented and so today (the first legal day we could do it after giving notice) we upped and offed to the register office and did the deed.....After being asked whether we were ALL here (yes there is only four of us!) we were ushered into a little room for our pre-match legal talk, managed to get the ceremony down to only the legal necessities, refused the offer of exchanging rings, etc and then headed off to the office to do the deed itself....After 5 minutes (would have been three, but the little registrar looked so crestfallen that we weren't having any 'words' as he put it, we let him to put in a section about loyalty and faithfulness) all was done and we were outside taking our post-match piccies (gotta have something to show mini-roo of the big day) and then off into town for me, whilst Mr Roo went back to work. So, the upshot of all this is that mini-roo is no longer a bar steward and I can push Mr Roo down the stairs in the sure and certain knowledge that I will be legally able to clean out the bank account afterwards....Who said romance was dead, eh? :o :o :o  Best wedding I've ever had!
