Blood Pressure!!

well, as some of you who frequent General Banter will know, I have been hooked up to a 24 hour BP machine. What joy its been as well..... not! The only good thing about it, is it has put my mind at rest with regards to my BP - the highest reading so far has been 143/92 (when I got back from the hospital after driving the car) it stayed at that level for about 2 hours, then gradually came down. The lowest reading (so far - that I am aware of) was 119/69. All the other readings have been in between those readings. Of course, its down to the Cardiologist to see whether my BP over 24 hours is deemed 'normal' but from what I can see, it doesnt really seem to be anything to worry about..... He might decide I am 'borderline' and maybe suggest I make a few life style changes (I could do with loosing a bit of weight, bit more exercise and probably cut down on the amount of alchol I have per week) Last night was a bit of a nightmare though.... at around 12.40am, I managed to disconnect the wire from my arm to the moniter. I connected it again, and waited until 1.25am (the next time it was due to go off) to see if it would....... It didnt! So I pushed a few buttons, and it started working again. I've just been on to the hospital, and apparently I wouldnt have erased any of my previous readings!Mini-Raven made me laugh though. She got home from school and saw me all wired up. I told her what it was, and she got all excited and wanted to see my blood  Typical 4 year old (I hope!)This morning, she came in to give me a kiss before she went off to school (the bedroom looking like a hospital ward) and asked if I was going to be OK and would I die? Mr Raven put her mind at rest. She seemed pretty satisfied that I wouldnt - and said 'oh good, because I want to see my friends today' :o

Oh dear...poor old SR...the things we do to stay healthy, eh?

Anyways, it sounds as if your rates are well within the normal range (about 120/80, I believe, but don't quote me on it ;) )

Hope all goes well with the cardiologist :D

thanks Roo....... I am convinced all is OK with my BP to be honest!! Its ever since they moved the nurses room (at the doctors surgery) up a flight of stairs that my BP has gone up!

I'm just unfit - walking up a flight of steep stairs and having a contraption squashing my arm does nothing for my stress levels!

(although the more serious part of me can't help that worry that something is more seriously wrong with me  )
