Well, its all very exciting (well, I guess I should be excited, but really I am rather aprehensive!) in our household.I have bought myself a car (not a new one - a K reg Clio) off my friend. Lovely little car, I have to say. I passed my test in October 1996, drove until the Summer of 1997, and eventually gave up. I lack a lot of confidence in myself and my capabilities when it comes to driving (among other things!)I had a few nasty 'road rage' episodes to the build up of me giving up. One of which was when I pulled off my mum and dads drive, and my right side view was blocked by a huge white van. Anyway, I kept checking (like you do) as I slowly reversed off the drive, checked right (clear) checked left (clear) pulled onto the road, and there was a huge screech of brakes. (makes me die - this is a country lane, so the driver, for there to be a screech of brakes must have been doing around 50mph in a 30mph spead limit)Anyway, there was no damage done, but this man got out his car, came over to me, asked me to wind down my window (which I foolishly did) and shouted a load of abuse at me (at one point I thought he might actually attack me)I managed to drive to my future Mr Raven's house(which in itself was an achievement since my vision was blurred by tears) , where I promptly handed the keys of my car to him, told him he could have it, and never set foot (well, in the drivers side) of a car since!(there were other minor nasty road rage incidences, but that was the straw that broke the camels back!)Today, all I managed was a 5 minute drive around St Mary's Island (in Kent) which is really quiet, so I know it doesnt mean I am ready for a busy road yet - but it has given me a little confidence to believe I can actually drive again.
