Busy Weekend

Well had a very busy weekend, mainly doing stuff to the house. My mum came up to keep little fella entertained (and to wind me up :) ) and so we managed to get loads done :o Saturday was a strange day with Live 8 on when I could watch it. It was good but (and I know it's not supposed to be the same) but there was not the same excitement or passion as there was with Live Aid :D I'm was not a big fan of Queen but when Freddie Mercury was on I could not take my eyes of the telly :) What a total showman and I then understood why my brother had been to see them so many times. Robbie Williams came close to that kind of entertainment I reckon. We went into town to see the Traction Engines (from the annual Steam Rally) come down to the market place for their traditional pint on Saturday night. Took little fella who got really scared. Couldn't understand why until he said something about the smoke coming out of his mouth, then realised he was taking about the anti-smoking advert with the smoke coming out of children's mouths and he thought that would happen to him :);)

Funnily enough I felt the same about Live 8 not being anything against Live Aid. It was good, but it just proves todays bands are absolutely nothing against the older ones. I found Elton John, U2, The Who and Pink Floyd a lot better than some of the newer acts. Live Aid was something new and never done before, so I suppose Live 8 wouldn't have the magic that its predecessor had.

I just hope now something can be done to help those poor people.
