House Build Update 14 April 2007

Took the opportunity to visit the site again this morning quite early seeing as it was sooooo nice out there  .

I have taken some more pictures to share with you all (especially Beka). From the naked eye it doesn't look like much has been done, but the builders are at the same level all round now (except the conservatory) and they have also started the secondary internal wall blocks.

I also have a dilema. We have a river running down the side of the property (see photo's). I would dearly like to make a feature of it in the garden (tier off the river and run it through with a bridge etc), but Mrs Dazza doesn't want too  . Although we don't have children yet, we haven't discounted the fact that we would like a family before it gets too late. Mrs Dazza is therefore concerned that little feet may fall into the 'feature' and is scared of this happening, hence her current disapprovement.

What do you all think? Your comments would be appreciated (hopefully in my selfish favour  ).

Anyway, the photo's are below:

Whatever the state of the waterway (whether as it is now or with an added feature of your

choice), you can be darned sure that any children you are blessed with will explore it regardless!

IMO it would probably be more dangerous as it is now (seems very open and fall-in-able) than

with an added feature. Depends what you're thinking of course.

Good point Andy.

As we own half of the land that the rivers run through also, I am reluctant to fence the edge of the river off, yet I am struggling to come up with a solution to ensure no-one goes for an unnecessary dip! (unlike our unfortunate Architect who err, fell on his backside in the river when he was measuring the land out for transfer). You had to be there but it was a definite  moment. Oh to have had a camera on me at the time

We probably won't be in the house until nearer Christmas, but that will soon be upon us and I would like to have a solution drawn up by then.

I put your name in lights in my new Blog entry but the bulbs blew (sorry about that), but I hope it will still do :D .

Also, thanks for your idea, which isn't a bad one actually, thinking about your idea I could make the river bank into a theme of the garden with a gate as you have advised, so thanks for that Beka :good:
