Day 5 to 7 - End of the week

Well, after feeling like I did yesterday, I thought bugger it, and had a lie in until 8 this morning. Still at work before 9 though, but feel so much better fo it.

Well, so far so good today. I'm getting cravings today, a bit like those in day 2, although the craving itself is much shorter. So thats always good

Now i've just got to remember that yesterday wasnt a failure, but just a blip in giving up.

Will up date this later, as not too much too report (a good thing I think).

I think after one week, i'll pobably do a weekly diary, as I think the day to day ones may get a little tedious

Well done you :) doesnt matter that you have had a relapse, the main thing is that you have it in your mind you are still set to give up!

You have inspired me hun, I would try and give up but I have my parents and their two dogs down for a couple of weeks over Xmas and I would be a fool to try, but I have made up my mind to cut down, and only had 8 yesterday compared to 20 :)

Well done you

I can really sympathise with you about the timing. MrsL could give up, just like that. I really had to make sure that I had no stressful situations, or situations which may trigger me to smoke, within at least a week.

I was advised to cut down (when I tried about 4-6 months ago) by my doc, rather than cold turkey (for other reasons mind  ). Its better than not doing so :)

Ooooo, you're a very brave pair!

I've tried to stop smoking various times and succeeded but only for limited times from a few weeks to several months though stopping completely like you have was the hardest part each time, but the habit of wanting one with drinks etc is whats got the better of me each time I've stopped.

Don't let it get the better of you as well, show those tw@s who's boss and fire their asses!

I've got a habit. 1/2oz a day, of dark drum, or similar shag, deep inhaler, no filters.

For me it's a strong addiction and even when I'n satiated, a reflex action. Even being very busy/washing-up all the time, doesn't help. 2 hours without one and I'm cerebrialy flagging.

Roll on a complete ban from the next government - half of me says.

Sounds like your doing well Chris.

Thought i'd just update this for today, although really, I wish I didnt.

Today, i've smoked 8 ciggies :( Not good.

I think i'm being a bit weak willed tbh.

Tomorrow and Sunday is with Kel all day, so I wont be having any whilst she is around.

Fingers crossed that the two days off them will help again. Its a bad habit, i've done before. I thought this morning "Well if I could smoke on Wednesday and stop again on Thursday, then i'll be ok doing it again".

A bad trap i've got to stop.

Will somebody please kick my weeble :cray:

Just to update on day 7.

Did well actually. Didnt have a smoke, although I really fancied one at times.

I was at my folks house, and with my old' man still smoking, there was a psychological trigger of nipping outside with him and having a cheeky ciggies (or pipe in his case).

Anyway, the crux is, never had one :drinks:
