Breaking Tilly

Well not literally ;)

Princess Tilly has been a very sleepy baby but recently has had a bit of a problem going to sleep on a night time :nonono:

Little fella was a dream getting to sleep, come 7pm he would have crawled upstairs himself if he could :)

Last night was a total nightmare, with constant screaming  Eventually got her to sleep at midnight <_<

Tonight we had a gentle, quiet bath, then read stories (to little fella) but still she decided to scream the house down. So, after changing/burping her, I left her, and left her and left her. I started off leaving her for a few mins, then 5 mins then 10 mins. Really, really hard to follow through but when I finally left her for 10mins and watched the clock, she stopped  She then moaned for 30 seconds but gave up ;)

The joys of motherhood ;)

Good on you Katie. Leaving a crying baby is one of the toughest things to do, but as long as she has everything, she will be fine (as has been proved) Fingers crossed this is day 1 in teaching Tilly that dark nights = sleep! :D

Thanks for your support :)

It's incredibly hard, even having gone through it once before :nonono:

I know now that she goes quiet when I walk upstairs, so there is no problem apart from wanting cuddles etc.....which is fine during the day but not at night

No need to thank me hun, being a mum to a new born is the hardest thing in the world!!

You are doing right in breaking the nightly cuddles - or it will soon progress to the marital bed (as my friends 3 year old is proving) Stick to the nightly feeds and changing, but no cuddles (even if it does sound hard or harsh) :) xxxxx
