Christmas Food Shopping

I will never go to Asda 2 days before Christmas every again. Unless it's for a bottle of Baileys or similar Irish Cream drink which makes you feel rather mellow after one glass. I have to work tomorrow. This could be interesting. I still have red wine! Christmas is looking goooooooooood

Simple Pleasures

OK- a another new noval thing. A Sunday morning lie in. So lie until 10am.Then another old friend rediscovered- "Something for the Weekend" on BBC2 at 10am. A perfect TV programme for a Sunday morning in your dressing gown with the Sunday Times (me) and the News of the World (Darren and me secretly ) Then a nice fry up breakfast, followed by taking the dogs for a long walk around Saltram House estate (National Trust) here in Plymouth on a cold crisp dry day with some sunny periods. Projection Screen TV

There was one big advantage from the pub closing- we took the Projection Screen TV- which means 82 inch square screen. In our lounge! I don't need glasses to watch the football results anymore Mind you scary thing is that you can see Sharon Osbournes staple marks from the all the plastic surgery

Early start= Early Finish

Started work at 640am- finished at 315pm. Lovely. Home to avoid all the works christmas parties. We cancelled our at work. No interest. Boring lot. I'm going out next weekend. On my own. No nasty work colleagues to deal with!!

A door closes

Last night during a fab party at our pub, both Darren and myself made a big decision. We decided to close the pub down. It was a wedding present from our partnership in the summer. We have broken even- but the rent and cost of stock have hit hard. The smoking ban has hit harder. Since 1st July the 3 pubs in the area around us have closed, as they didn't have the courtyard like us. But with 2 weeks to Christmas, even the amount of customers have dropped below the "normal" level. Hence at 11pm tal

Christmas Lights- Chav style

My house is on an ex council estate. Until today it was the only house on the estate without any lights outside. It was decided that this made our house worse than some of the others. So I've invested in some lights from Wilkinsons for £4.99. Given the gales forecast for tonight, it may be £4.99 down the drain Oh and here's the Christmas Tree circa 2007!!!

Painting

Today I am painting the lounge. I've had enough of creams and magnolia (boring!!!) and have plumped for a colour called Woodland Glade from Focus. Its a lovely classic green and will look lovely with the green sofa. Plus because Focus is closing in Plymouth I got the paint at a lovely cheap price, although I did feel a tad guilty about the people losing their jobs right on Christmas. And then when I've finished- the Christmas Decs can go up.

A Fresh Start

Time to update In my last blog I was gutted, upset. And yes I left him. The end result of that was horrendous, awful, but in a weird way, my work life actually improved!! Last weekend was a total watershed. I will never go into the details online- but I had the worst night of my life last Friday night. I am so proud of Darren for his reactions and actions since- but the end result is finally and after a long week of talking until 3/4am each morning- I have moved back home and put my wedding r

Confessions

I have been married for 3 months. I will probably be filing for divorce after today. My "husband"- and I currently use that word lightly- didn't manage to come home last night. When I found him in the pub at lunchtime he was 4 parts to the wind and told me he'd had a lovely night in the local Holiday Inn with a another guy. Then to make matters when better- he tells me this the sixth time this has happened in the 6 years we've been together. So after 4 hours of finding out this information -

Depression

I have been dianogised with Depression and Anxiety- and finally I've recognised that I need help. It all came to a head on Saturday night, when I did somethings which I deeply regretted. I won't go into details, only my close friends have never been so worried about me and told me straight on Sunday/Monday to go off sick. My Doctor has been fantastic and has told me that I will in this for the long haul and he has given me a tablet called Citalopram. The ironic thing which I couldn't get is that

4 Days to Go

Well my last true day of work before the do. Usual stuff, clearing stuff up- writing letter to customers that I should have done months ago (Sorry Relate group in Plymouth)- sorting out Boats and Moorings stuff - (hey if you park a car you must park at boat as well- hence my new additional job title to Senior Parking Officer - Assistant Harbourmaster! ) and then.... at 445 just I was getting ready to go, the whole unit came into my section with an enormous bag of presents. I couldn't belie

Civil Partnership Plans (28days to go)

Darren and I get "Civil Partnershiped" 4 weeks today. Frankly we need a wedding planner. Or a Civil Partnership planner. You name it, it's gone wrong lately. The wedding party was to be held at our best mates pub. He took it over last September. Then 5 weeks ago this happened..... See below. Yup the glass washer set the whole pub up in flames. We've spent hours trying to sort things out- washing cleaning, but the insurance company have finally decided to rebuild. Luckily the fire crew got Dav

Rest in Peace

After 4 years of tireless hard work my iron has finally died. In quite spectacular fashion (no pun intended)- it has managed to fuse the house totally However, this means I cannot do my weekly chore until pay day. - will I get away with creased shirts at work??

Naughty

I was very naughty last night. It envolved a BBQ- a bottle of vodka, 4 very close friends and a camcorder. I'm not the one in hiding today. The neighbours are a bit surprised at certain activities coming from our garden last night.

Training and STRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Half my work team have decided that they hate me. With a passion. I was told to my face that I was a liar, a divider and that I didn't care. This after I send weekly emails and praise them all at the weekly meeting - Ijust don't know. However, they tried the same tack with the guy before me, HR are fully aware. What made it all the more shocking was to be threated by one of my staffs husband, who happens to work in the same building, in front 2 neutral staff. So tomorrow could be fun.......

I can no longer drink like I did 10 yrs ago (as my headache proves today) I have new lava lamp from boyfriend I have new Deal or No Deal DVD from boyfriend I cannot beat Noel Edmonds at said game My boyfriend left all the price tags on both presents and birthday card I wish I had not drunk so much beer and whiskey last night. I wish I was 21 again.

Plymouth 1/2 Marathon

I have signed up to do the Plymouth half marathon. I currently have problems running for a bus- let alone running 13 1/4 miles. Including hills. I have 18 weeks to prepare. I need my head looking at. A friend asked me last night- how long to you think it will take you. My honest answer is hopefully under 6 days. and smoking will have to go..... Therefore this blog will become my training blog from tomorrow.

A trip to A&E

I spent 2 hours in A&E this morning. I woke up and had real problems breathing, plus I had a pain in left arm. As a result, the other ex decided that he'd had enough and took me to Derriford Hospital. I felt a bit of a fraud- but I had an ECG (all fine) but the chest infection has got worse overnight. The docs have now doubled my antibiotics and given me some strong painkillers, and thankfully they seem to be working, but it's early doors. Work have been good- told me to come back when I'm

Pills

The doctors visit was encourging- but I'm glad I went. Basically i have very high blood pressure (130 over 100). The nurse said my top figure was ok, but the resting figure the 100 is way way too high. So I have a month on tablets called Propranlol- and more importantly no alcohol for a month and to try and take things a bit easier and start exercising. So it least it's getting sorted. I had one last blast out last night- a small headache this morning but I can live with it! Wish me luck

Last day and a sad ending

Today is our last full day in Glossop. Left work yesterday, and had a serious panic atack in the middle of my presentation- so much so, my boss thought i was having a heart attack. :o It was a combination of no food, stress and too much beer the night before, but boy has it scared me. Think I'll see a doctor as soon as a get home to Plymouth. Wish us luck, as we move some 300 miles south, back home.

Time To Update- And Moving Home.

I can't believe it's September and i haven't entered a new entry. So here's quick update. We're moving again. But in a good way, we're going home to Plymouth I've somehow manged to get a serious promotion into management with Plymouth City Council. It's going to be hard to leave all my friends at Rotherham Council, but if somebody offers you a £7000 pay rise and no travelling what would you do? So it's been a mad month, packing, looking for a new house and a job for Daz. We have managed to

Stopping Smoking..... Any Ideas!

So here's 2006. We've taken the dec's down, and are in the process of stripping the home from bottom to top, cleaning, bleaching, the usual. So 2006 resolutions are 1- Not to get stressed at work 2- To stop smoking 3- To run the Manchester 10k in May and the Glasgow 1/2 Marathon in September. The second one starts tomorrow, on my return to work. Then we can start training for the Manchester run.

Happy New Year Everybody

Well I hope you all had a FANTASTIC Christmas. We've got home from sunny Plymouth about an hour ago. Lots of partying, fun, frolics, and I've got a black eye (but then that's what happens when some of my friends get rather silly on alcohol! Play hitting got slightly out of hand ) Actually it was all rather nice, catching up on all the gossip and seeing who's seeing who now. Went to church Xmas Eve, had mince pies with my Aunt and Uncle on Boxing Day, just the usual, normal NICE Christmas. Oh

Alcoholic Headaches

Hallam FM have taken a well known xmas advert and changed the words, they seemed rather apt yesterday.... "hangovers are coming, hangovers are coming, all drink the real thing" (thats the coke ad ) blimey my head pounded yesterday, . Looked at my last blog, blimey i must have been bad. All I know is i slept on the landing (missed the bedroom) and Daz wouldn't talk to me. So I'm told, I was singing carols at the top of my voice at 1130 having failed to get my key in the front door I have sp
