I know it might be seen by some as an over-reaction following the 7/7 attacks, and the attempted attacks on London last week, but well - this is what blogs are for - rather than start a thread, I thought it might be best to put how I am feeling in my blog. well, as some of you who frequent General Banter will know, I have been hooked up to a 24 hour BP machine.What joy its been as well..... not! The only good thing about it, is it has put my mind at rest with regards to my BP - the highest reading so far has been 143/92 (when I got back from the hospital after driving the car) it stayed at that level for about 2 hours, then gradually came down. The lowest reading (so far - that I am aware of) was 119/69. All the other readings have been in betw

Ben, one of the family dogs was knocked down and killed by a car yesterday. He was such a happy, trusting soul, bless him. The only comfort we can get is that it was instant, and he didnt suffer. He escaped by a complete accident, and was making his way to the field opposite mum and dads house. He was missing only for a few minutes as his coat was still dry when Dad found him in the middle of the road, even though it was raining lightly. I've allowed myself to be annoyed by a lot of things recently. The main thing is 'self centred, self pitying, attention seeking people'. The world is full of them. Please god, take a step back and actually appreciate what you have for a second, please.

Had some good news today. Some of you may know about my Granddad being diagnosed with bowel cancer. He had an MRI scan last week to see if it had spread. Its good news because it can be treated and hasnt spread. The results came though today to say that it hasnt spread, but the tumour he has is an aggressive form. He's 82, has heart problems and diabetes, but an operation to remove the tumour seems to be the sensible option. Granddad asked what the outlook would be if he didnt have the op,
