A Walk With Oz

Today, although the weather was pants, and when I say pants I mean overcast and bleugh, I went for a nice long walk with Ozzy at Reigate Priory, walked down from the top down through to the lake, the tree's have started to turn which makes it a gorgeous place to be, the brown and orange against the green of the grass, I wish I had taken my camera! I did take some pics on the phone, but can't find the lead to upload them :(There were loads of Canadian guess on the pond, the bottom end was covered with them. It is such a nice walk round there now they have renovated the whole bottom of the park to almost the original design. Just a shame they have got scaffolding up at the Priory (which is a school now) it's such a lovely building, and sure it will be again when they have finished doing what ever they are doing. It's amazing how you forget how wonderful a place is, I used to spend alot of my time at the Priory park as a kid, and up until last year hadn't been there since I was about 16 and then I didn't really appreciate the place.Me thinks the next trip will be to the Castle grounds, but with the camera and without the dog

Happy Talkin', Talkin Happy Talk

Blimey I didn't realise how long it has been since my last blog ..... bad bad Loubykins!Well the woe is me bit first, had a crap summer the end.Now for the good stuff :DFor those who don't know Frog did very well in her exams, one is a very proud mum! and after alot of faffing about finally choose her college course, Graphics, IT, Photography and Classic Civiliations, the later chosen as she had to choose 4 and any of the other course classed as 2 course or an art subject, anyhoo she has to drop one come this time next year and although she has some interest in classic civiliations it was the subject she would drop come next year. Trouble is she loves it... she loves all the subjects some me thinks it's going to be a difficult choice for her next year But she is loving college and doing well so far, she loves the relaxed atmosphere and more importantly (in her eyes) there are loads and loads of fit guys (god help them, one and all) :lol:Rat is in his last year at school, and still not sure what he wants to do when/if he goes to college, doing well enough, although could put a bit more effort into school, but he is too busy playing cricket As for me, I am looking into doing volunteer work for a local old peoples home, I had planned to look into it more before the summer but things happened and didn't get done. It is something I used to do when I was at school and loved it. Just not sure my back will cope with it, will have to see.I have also lost two and half stone... not sure where, if anyone finds it, you can keep it, I don't want it back :lol:Now my foot is healed I can get out with Ozzy, which is doing me wonders, and not just over the mototway bank anymore, Joe drives me over to the lakes or up to Reigate Priory or Reigate Hill, he sits in the car having a coffee reading boring fishing mags and Ozzy and I go marching off at a rate of knotts, I love it! and so does Oz.Well that's enough to bore you for now

I Really Shouldn't....

I really shouldn't give up smoking, twice this year I have given up and yes I feel much better for it but I have become a touchy grouchy old cow who bites at the slightest provocation. I am constantly saying things and instantly apologising, mostly to Joe and the kids. I find I am so less tolerant of people I don't like and instead of just thinking 't&*t' I say it. Things are no longer water off a ducks back to me, and I don't like it.

On a different note....
My Frog turns 16 next week trouble is now is when the true worrying starts! eeeek! feel extra old too but once Frog's birthday is out of the way then you will all be glad *snigger* to know I will be on my normal Xmas high (I hope) the Xmas countdown will begin

Thank you

Well it sure has been a stressful past week or so, to add to all the crap that has been thrown at me my Aunt died last week, she was one of those type of people you just expect to be around for ever, never even crossed my mind she may die one day, even though she has not been particulary well for a while.
RIP Auntie Ruth.

on a slightly lighter note, I have finished my course of zombie pills and already feel brighter and more alert

and last but by no means least, I would like to thank all of those that took the time to PM me to make sure I was ok, I really did appreciate it, it really is nice to know that people do actually care... so a mahoooooosive thank you to you all

I will hopefully be back in top form very soon .

Will I ever be right in the head again!

Ok so I have never been right in the head, some say I am more dolally than a dolally thing on a nutty day, but recently I have found out I am suffering from a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia (for those who have never heard of it.... http://www.tna.org.uk/pages/condition.html) It is not something that is usually associated with someone of my age group ( Joe and kids keep kidding me I have old persons disease  ) but thankfully my doc spotted it straight away. There are many possible triggers for the pain, and I haven't quite pin pointed what is triggering mine, although looking at a computer screen sometimes seems too. Hense why I haven't been around so much recently on NW. The meds seem to have done the job for now, but the attacks can come back at any time and at different levels, but for now its not too bad thankfully. To add to the joy of illness, this week I have had flu , tis bloody June for christs sake! flu at this time of year!!! bloody daft.... well I suppose it goes with me daft personality really :o I did however, last Sunday have the joy of meeting some of our NW members, even took my lass down with me, Coast claims he arranged the sunshine, but I would like to put the record straight he didn't, it twas I :o Just want to thank all of those who came, it was a pleasure meeting each and everyone of you! especially the cake bringer..... now that was good cake....... Please Mrs can I have some more. and a special thank you to one of NW oldest members for coming down, who didn't have the easiest of journey down or back. xx

I have been smoking on and off since I was 14 more on than off after the age of 16. here's to hopefully the rest of my life without

nearly 2 weeks

I really cannot believe it has been nearly two weeks of not smoking!! I have to say I feel better for it, not breathing out of my backside when walking Oz up the hill, my sinuses are clearing nicely, taste buds are starting to spring back into action and my sense of smell have improved big time, although really not sure that is a good thing with two smelly males in the house, 3 if you include the dog. I have to admit, these past couple of days I really have struggled, especially late night early morning, when everyone has gone to bed, thankfully the internet has been my saviour once again, and it doesn't go to bed at 10.30pm and I have friends who are prepared to sit and listen/read to me waffle on and keep my mind off things. So a big thank you to them, I am sure you know who you are Joe too is doing brilliantly, if it wasn't for him I am sure I would have given in before now! Thank you Joe xxx Thanks to you all for your support, I really appreciate it

Insomnia

I'm having trouble trying to sleep I'm counting sheep but running out As time ticks by And still I try No rest for crosstops in my mind On my own... here we go My eyes feel like they're gonna bleed Dried up and bulging out my skull My mouth is dry My face is numb mongooseed up and spun out in my room On my own... here we go My mind is set on overdrive The clock is laughing in my face A crooked spine My sense dulled Passed the point of delerium On my own... here we go Lyrics by Greenday... song Brainstewed.

Lost track

lost track of time now Well today has been a really good day ciggie wise, thought about them a couple of times but not had one craving, today is the first time not smoking hasn't bothered me  I don't feel the need to have mints or keep my mind off of them! Which is not bad concidering I am running on a couple of hours sleep! Though I might start sleeping better at night once I gave up but that hasn't happened yet

Day 3 and and going strong!

Well last night was a bit interesting to say the least... My lad came back from the skate park in pain, he had fallen off of his bike put his hand down to stop himself, and his elbow was really killing him. Joe decided it was better to get him checked out so off down the hospital they went... at this point both Joe and I are thinking ciggies, need a ciggie...... They x-rayed and couldn't see enough so we have to wait and see if the pain goes over the next couple of days, if it doesn't take him back But we managed to get through that without having a ciggie  Found it easier late last night, only had one craving about 1am. This morning I have found much easier too. If I can make it through today I will be really chuffed with myself MAAAAAAAAAAAADE IT!!!!! Even thought my computer gave up on me and I started to beat the crap out of it, I still got threw today without a ciggie!! And Joe too even though he spent the afternoon trying to get it up and running for me! Thank you babe.

Day 2

Well we made it through yesterday!!! I have to say, I was really struggling towards the end of the night though. Fingers crossed today will go as well 5pm Well not been too bad today, had a bit of a struggle just before lunch but decided that going for a snooze would sort that out, which it did  then we had a lovely walk down Earlwood lakes to clear the old cobwebs, so at the mo, finding it not too bad, I think Joe is struggling a little bit more this afternoon though.

Well this is it!!! After two weeks of preparation, it the day I stop smoking. Had enough of smoking now, don't like it anymore and don't want to do it anymore. My first target it to get to lunch time! Shouldn't be too much of a problem. Keep your fingers crossed. Wish me luck, give me encouragement pleeeease. Well tis now 2.30 ish, and still doing well, surprisingly, had a moment earlier where I really wanted on, but a friend phoned and took my mind of it So very grateful to them, hmmm wonder if they would be willing to call me at 3am when I am still wide awake and wanting a smoke  5.15pm Struggling a tad, but knew this part of the day would be hard. I can do it, I can do it , I can bloody well do it!!!!! midnight ish

Finally Me!

After a few weeks of feeling like crud in more ways than one, I finally feel like I am Louby again, my back is almost better *touch wood* and it will keep improving, I am getting out of the house a bit more walking Oz and the odd trip to the coast, which has done wonders, my nuttiness is returning in a big way, to some that is a relief to others may fill them with dread, but I don't care I am finally me again! Just one or more hurdles to get over this year and life will be sparkly perfect !

bed time

Well after months of insomnia and a big Louby low, yesterday I finally got round to giving myself a kick up the butt and sorted my muddled mind out and get my life back on track. This morning I felt fantastic, and got the camera sorted thought we would take a trip down to Tilgate Park even though the weather wasnt great, get some snaps at the rare breed farm they have and bimble round the lake, well that was until my back went but thought sod it will go anyway just out in the car find somewhere nice to park up get some shots from the car, with the help of Joe managed to get trainers on, to find when I went to stand I couldn't . Bugger. Well it has taken me 20 minutes to crawl up the stairs and into bed, which is where I am gonna have to stay for a while. Joy of all joys!! after months of people nagging me 'you should get to bed' I now have no choice whinge over.....

What a day!

We have just had the best Christmas EVER!!!!! The kids were as happy as pig in s..... sand they played on their Wii all day and not one arguement not one!!!! Even Joe was chuffed with what he got, we usually struggle to think of things and he gets socks smellies and cd's, but this year I have managed to find lots of stuff for him and only two bits were to do with fishing!!! Joe spoilt me something rotten, for the first time in a very long time I was gobsmacked, I opened my mouth and nothing came out!!! I bet a few on here would have loved to have seen me speechless. Thank you Joe you are the best! Oh I am still not tired, still buzzing from today

too excited to sleep

Well it seems that the Christmas excitement is just getting too much, I once again am in for a long wide awake night, after just 4 hours sleep last night and a gruelling couple of hours in Tesco being perved on by an 80 year old man I thought I may by this time be feeling sleepy, but no. even tried to have a drink or 5 to help me, but I am soo wide awake its untrue. All I can say is thank god for the NW night owls, who keep me sane. Well ok sane and louby really don't go together but you know what I mean. So thank you to those that keep from running over to the bridge across the way and flinging myself off on to the M25 you are all diamonds in my book
