Not too bad this weekend but not the heights of summer. The heat and humidity in SE will fade, there will be some rain about and cooler overnight. plenty of bright spells and sunshine in-between the showers.
If you are off camping this coming weekend, it won't be as hot and humid. The heat is set to peak on Friday 3rd for SE Britain, sparking off a few thunderstorms and then the weekend looks cooler and fresher everywhere with a scattering of showers from the west.
So that means your packing will involve everything - Sunscreen, sun hat and your sunglasses. Waterproof coat and just take your wellies, why not. A woolly jumper and hat for the cool evenings. Insect repellent and sleep mask/ear plugs to aid your night-time rest.
TEMPERATURES
Friday afternoon and evening will be warm across England and hot and humid for the SE. So if you are travelling or pitching your tents prepare for some muggy work. Cooler fresher air will be spreading in from the west, so it will become more comfortable around 14 to 21C, after Friday's possible 28C (82F).
Saturday night will be much cooler, dipping down to 3 or 4C in parts, lower in the north.
THUNDERSTORMS
In the heat and humidity of Friday, there is the risk of isolated thunderstorms, for SE England and East Anglia. Most places will stay dry, but if one of these does develop, it will bring a hefty downpour. Will it Thunder?
RAIN
SW Britain, Wales, northern England and then the Midlands will see rain on Friday mainly through the morning, but don't despair the skies will brighten the rain fizzle out. By Friday evening there will still be a few showers dotted about but for most, it will become dry. Any heavy thundery showers in the SE will also fade during Friday evening.
For the rest of the weekend, it is a mixture of sunny spells and showers. The showers flow in from the west so more chance over N.Ireland, western Scotland, Wales and NW England. A scattering for Devon and Cornwall and across northern England and more of Scotland. Other parts of England will be mostly dry and bright.
WIND
No howling gales in the forecast. Mostly it is light to moderate W or SW winds, so a bit breezy at times, over hills and for western coasts but not bad.
Striking Camp
For both Saturday and Sunday, there is the potential for hefty showers over Northern Ireland and Scotland, most for northern and western areas. There will be spells of fine and bright weather as well so just keep the waterproof to hand. At the moment it does look like there will be a cluster of showers moving over England and Wales during Sunday from the west. As always with showers, it won't be wet for everyone, gaps of dry, bright weather in-between.
Even though it won't be as hot at the weekend, the sun is still strong at this time of year and being outdoors all day, do remember the sunscreen and hayfever tablets if the grass pollen affects you. Weed pollen levels are also rising, but we'll see High grass pollen levels by Saturday for England and Wales.
