The first test had successful weather at the Home of Cricket, even if the home nation lost. Warmth, sunshine and a thrilling end making a great start. The second test will be at Old Trafford starting on Friday July 22nd with the possibility of play until Tuesday 25th.

This week's heat and sunshine has seemed to be perfect cricket weather but will it hold over the weekend?

Overall, winds will be light, there will be lengthy bright, sunny and dry spells but there are showers about too. So, not too bad and feeling a bit fresher into next week.

Netweather Radar

Today- There is a line of showers out in the Irish Sea but most of these should fade before reaching Gt. Manchester. On the whole, it looks like a fair, bright day, feeling very warm when the sunshine breaks through, up to 23C with hardly any breeze. However, there is a 30% risk of rain interruptions, from the showers in the afternoon.

Saturday - Looking good. It should be dry, quite cloudy but feeling warm enough at 21C (70F), with a fine afternoon .

Sunday - Could be more unsettled after a fine start. A band of showery rain could approach from the Irish Sea around the middle of the day. Keep an eye on the forecast as this band may fade,or the showers miss Old Trafford but it brings a 40% risk of rain. Still warm at 21C.

Monday - Looks good, feeling a bit fresher at 20C with sunny spells, a small chance of a shower but there should be plenty of play, if not a full day.

Tuesday - Feeling cooler at 17C, with more chance of a shower.

The 3rd test will be during the first week of August at Edgbaston, Birmingham
