It's been a busy week here at Netweather, putting the finishing touches to our new, upgraded radars.

Firstly, the free radar has had a significant update, it now displays at 500m resolution (using actual 500m data, not interpolated from something else) which offers 4 times more detail than the 1km data, and on top of this, we've increased the update frequency to be every 5 minutes.

The difference between 1km and 500m data:

Take a look at the newly upgraded radar here.

On top of the changes to the free radar we've also bought out V7 of our Netweather Extra radar, this also incorporates the 500m data, and has a new super-fast processing engine which means the radar image now reaches your screen around 30 seconds after we receive the raw data from the Met Office.

Subscribers can access the new V7 radar here.

We've also made some changes to our subscription options, with Radar Extra subscribers getting a free (and ongoing) upgrade to what was the Lite subscription. So in addition to a host of extra radar features, and faster updates, subscribers now have access to key charts (inc our own Netwx model), standalone ATD lightning detection, lightning archive, detailed forecasts and others.

If you were previously subscribed to Netweather Extra Lite, we've extended your subscription to ensure you're not losing out due to these changes. (We've emailed all those affected - so please check your inbox for more details, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions).
