The Scottish Grand National follows Aintree last weekend. After heavy rain this week, the weather is settling down

Dry for the Races this weekend.

After the meteorological success of ‘Many Clouds’ at the Aintree Grand National last weekend, this coming weekend sees the Scottish Grand National at Ayr racecourse. Western Scotland has seen heavy rain earlier this week but is now bright and dry and will stay settled all through the weekend. For any spectators there will be some sunshine as western Britain sees the best of any bright weather, but it will still be cool. Top temperatures might reach 15C which isn’t that warm so don’t be fooled by the sunny skies. I can’t see a weather named horse on the list, I’m going with Sego Success.

For all the horse racing this weekend it is looking dry but cool. High pressure over Scotland is bringing a longer spells of settled weather but with some cool, brisk East winds for southern Britain and Thirsk. Nottingham, Newbury and Wolverhampton all around 13 or 14C.
