Mild Then A Colder & Blustery End To Winter

Mild air spreading up from the south west will pay a brief visit over the next day or so before colder conditions return from the north west with a chilly end to the working week. Then an unsettled weekend with the Atlantic feeding bands of wind and rain our way.

A weak warm front bringing mild air up from the south west will pay a brief visit to many areas over the next 24-36 hours before a cold front arrives from the north west and brings a chilly end to the working week.  High pressure keeps things calm though, until a more unsettled weekend where the Atlantic feeds bands of wind and rain our way.

Mild To Start

First that milder air, which is making it's way north east and treating the southern half of the UK, and Ireland to temperatures in the double digits, though some stubborn cloud and mist for some will spoil the spring like feel.

Milder Air Pays A Brief Visit

Colder Conditions Return

Later today heavy rain arrives from the west, before easing and heading east leading to a grey, damp and murky night for many.  However, around midnight a cold front will press in from the far north west with more heavy and colder air filling in behind as it edges south east through Thursday, with a return of the wintry showers for the north and west of Scotlsand, and N Ireland.

A Cold Front Bringing Rain Heads South East

Watch out for ice on Thursday night, into Friday morning as skies clear and temperatures fall away, with the wet ground there could be some tricky conditions to deal with.  Friday will mainly be a clamer day as high pressure tries to nudge in, with some decent sunny spells to found and light winds.  Then it's all downhill again for the weekend as bands of wind and rain roll in from the Atlantic to give a wet and blustery end to the meteorological winter.
