The remains of Bertha are over Scandinavia now, but another low forming near Iceland will drift southeastwards into the North Sea over the next few days drawing chilly north westerly winds across the UK, especially northern areas to begin with along with plenty of showers, though southern areas should miss the worst of them. All in all, not very August like, particularly as there is a slight chance of wintry showers over the Scottish peaks next week too.
