Unsettled Week Ahead
Rain, showers and gusty winds will be frequent visitors this week with low pressure running the weather show for the UK. In between the wetter spells though there will at least be some sunshine but don't expect too much warmth with cool air with us through the week.
Starting today, it's actually dry for much of the UK, there is some showery rain running through southern coastal counties where it's also blustery. There will also be some showers affecting the north of Scotland, and a few showers here and there elsewhere but in between there will be some sunny spells to enjoy with temperatures peaking at around 8-12c typically.
Winds will start to strengthen across the northern half of the country later in the day though, and that sets the scene for Tuesday where blustery showers will affect northern England and Scotland through much of the day with western regions seeing the most of them. From the midlands southward though, it stays mainly dry and bright with just a chance of a shower or two.
Wind and rain will start to spread further southeast from Wednesday into Thursday though with a spell of rain moving through all parts with blustery, squally showers following in behind - particularly in the west.
The latter part of the week keeps with the unsettled flavour, in fact things may well ramp up a gear with the potential for some particularly wet and windy conditions moving through as we close out the week and move into the weekend - something we'll be keeping an eye on during the coming days.
